Does anyone know when the area where cutlers bar is being redeveloped?(Near casbah etc) My fiance and I have sort of booked our wedding reception in cutlers function room but th manager said that if the redevelopment had started we wouldnt be able to hold it there, but she didnt know when it would be.
We are getting married in May, obviously we will have to make other plans if it will be closed but it means hiring somewhere much more expensive, when there is a possibility that it will still be there.
Sorry to the mods if you feel this is in the wrong place. move it if you wish.
Cheers for any info, feel free to pm me if you might get into trouble posting info publicly lol!:)

Would the council be able to give you the info?

There's some links there.

There is meant to be a public enquiry around this time of the year to see if it indeed the whole Compulsory Purchase Order will go through or not. If it does go ahead, then the predicted date to reclaim all the land back by the council should be around next July or something like that. However... different owners are already selling and have sold their own land to the developer's already. I know that because the public enquiry, has pushed back some specific dates... so, it is uncertain if the schedule will remain the same overall. This info was from an open day in the McDonald Hotel.

If you are planning something as important as a wedding, I would recommend to use a business which is not within that particular area which may be demolished, and redeveloped. I think that the Cutlers is also in the first phase to be redeveloped too. There are plans and maps available either from the developer's site, or the council's website. It's very hard to ask anyone for specific dates when the developers, or the council may not know what is happening either with this public enquiry, and the situation has escalated to the Secretary of State for a decision.

I hope this info helps your planning.

@Bago
Well no one has got back to me from Hammersons, and going on what you have written it is probably a good idea to find somewhere else. Its a shame though as the venue hire was free. Cheers for your reply. Im sure i will have other ideas.

Thanks Jackdanny, I will bear it in mind.
My in-laws to be have found a couple of places for us to look at, wherever we have it will have to be ok with having a mini rave in the building! Im a dj, as are many of my friends, and it will be a pretty loud affair by the end of it. Hence me choosing Cutlers initially, with its nightclub bit upstairs.
