sorry rather wound up got an xbox 360 brand new game in and my son has jumped about 1/2" away from it being a 2yr old quite typical thing to do and the xbox has scratched my brand new disc! took a look online and it seems this is quite a common problem but seems theres nowt i can do except write the £40 game off! how is this fair? has anyone else had this prob? if so what did u do? doe anyone know how/where to complain? sorry for rant i just think this is rediculous x

Unless M$ get round to admit another problem with the 360... they admited the 3 lights of death, so there is allways hope i guess..

Calm down, calm down. When your son jumped it's likely the spinning disc scuffed the laser. Now providing the disc doesn't have a crack it can be saved. Most scratches and scuffs can be removed from cds and dvds. Playtime Video Games on Pinstone street will probably be able to fix it. It will only cost £2 too.

Lay it flat rather than vertical if you don't have it this way already. This will minimise the problem. Like Mod Man says, either get it recoated at Playtime, or take it back to the shop and say the disc was scratched. Most will be happy to swap it out.

Alternatively sedate your son with tranquilizers before a heavy gaming session.
