were is the best place to live and were is the worst place to live in sheffield ????

think we have done this b4 or something similiar but ill say Worrall and Fulwood, worse bits prob darnall, waterthorpe or shiregreen. But you do get real nice bits in those areas so im not sure really. i think you always get one bad street, usually a jubilee cres or the oval!! but im generalising:gag:

Best Whirlow worst Parsons cross

whirlow farm! PX is huge est, does have some yukky bits, but lots of nice old people too on that est

Well, to save offence by generalising about an area, I'll pick nicest/worst road.
Nicest = Whirlow Park Road, Worst = Manor Park Centre.

Hunter's Bar gets my vote.Why?
Plenty of different shops ,including 24/7 supermarket.
Loads of different restaurants and cafes.
Botanical Gardens and Endcliffe Park on the doorstep.
Quite good[by today's standards] public transport to Derbyshire or City centre.
Lower crime rate than most of Sheffield.
Loads of pubs and bars within easy reach or on the doorstep.
Very unlikely to get ripped up by a dual carriage-way in the foreseeable future.
Residents have very varied backgrounds.
What other area can claim all that ?
Worst ?
Any area miles from a good pub or shops must be boring to live in.

Burngreave has actually got some really nice big houses and a couple of really nice streets - my mate lives there and has had no bother - up n coming affordable area I tell ya!!

what does everyone think about nether edge? i just moved there recently, seems ok to me so far?

The general area that encompasses Firth Park, Firvale, Pitsmoot, Burngreave
Manor (inc Manor top, Arbourthorne, Woodthorpe, Wybourn etc etc)

It all depends what you want from an area - If you want down to earth neighbours who will say hi, invite you for a pissup or a bbq and just generally be "normal" then stay away from Fulwood, Totley, Whirlow etc.

The good old yorkshire folk will be found elsewhere.

banner cross and hunters bar are lovely but im going to say Broomhill just because we live there now, haha. its a great piece of sheffield.

At the minute-- the best place is Hackenthorpe because we have just moved to the area and have found it to be a wonderfully quiet location and probably the quietest neighbours I've ever had the pleasure of living next too.

its got a real diverse mix of people living here some lovely houses. It feels nice and quiet where i am yet am walking distance to city centre and eccy rd.
Fulwood is nice and i also a little pocket in milhouses is lovely too.

worst area- I've never seen anywhere as depressing as darnall,(except some scary st in nottingham:help: ) and i know kelham island is supposed to be on the up , but its sooooooooo ugly round there
