What's the best excuse you've ever used or heard?
I once had a mate who nagged his sister until she agreed to phone in for him. She phoned his boss and told him "Neil won't be in today as he's broken his back... he'll be tomorrow though!"
True story believe it or not!
the worst excuse I've ever heard in my entire life was from a bloke I used to work with in 'Pool, he got his g'friend to call in saying that he fell on some bricks!!!!!

If you're a girl with a male boss go for 'I've got cystitis' - no further questions will be asked! Someone I know filed the bottom of their nose with a nail file to make it red after skiving off with the 'I've got a cold' excuse.

I used to work in recruitment and a temp once rang in 10 mins before their planned shift to say "I can't go in to work because I ate too much".
Couldn't get angry cos I thought it was such an original excuse!!

I once had someone tell me that they had not come into work because the council had made them get rid of their dog (no pets allowed in their housing) and therefore they had overslept because the dog had not barked to be taken for a walk....
