It sounds as though the singer is on helium & is a nonsense song... The words are something like...

dig a dee dat dee di doh doh,
deee dat diddy DOH! ...... and so forth

It accompanied a web greeting page someone once sent me long deleted; called The Origins of Smilies (or something).

Someone said they thought it was called the Hamster Song, but wasn't sure...

 :help:  Thanks

One that springs to mind is .........

"Several species of small furry animals gathered together in a cave and groovin' with a Pict"

by Pink Floyd circa 1971

Ummagumma was 1969.

It sounds more like something from Captain Beefheart's Trout Mask Replica to me, though.

I think he means this:

haha, I remember that song it was strangely addictive even though it sucked!

at first I thought he meant the song "blue" by Eiffel 65... but then I remembered the dodgy hamster song was real...

anyways, not sure if you can buy it in the stores, I've had a look on the net for the song and can't find it on MP3... so who knows :-\

Hi. First time poster - Long time lurker. Go steady on me ;-)

If it's the hamster dance song that we're on about, it's actually a pitch altered sample of a song/jingle from Disney's Robin Hood, If memory serves me. It was used by the Cuban Boys on a track called "Cognoscenti Vs. Intelligentsia"

More details... http://www.gettingit.com/article/414

You could probably find it on Kazaa or similiar.

Damn! I can't get it out of my head now!

LesMcQueen - I think I know the one you mean but I don't think its what the original poster was describing

As Mimi has said it sounds a lot like Scatman

I suppose it could be Scat Man John, but SMJ doesn't sound like he's on Helium.

Also, the "dig a dee dat dee di doh doh, deee dat diddy DOH!" seems to fit a little better to the Hamster Dance tune, whilst SMJ's efforts sound a bit more "scuddley buddley boo", if that makes sense.

Also, be careful when googling the word 'scat' - It has a whole different meaning online ;-) Put me right off my dinner.

Don_Kiddick: Are you still there to confirm?

:wow: Thanks for all these replies folks!

I'm on nights this week & am using the works' pc which  annoyingly doesn't have sound/ speakers.

I'll give the links a whirl at the weekend at home.

I can't get it out of my head either Les! ! Me & me wee son often sing the 1 line together for ages - I wish I'd still got the link :( . He loves it & remembers the email we first heard it on.

A Huge thanks too you all - and a very dig a dee dat deedi doh doh Christmas :hihi:
