View Full Version : Reasearch:Brand new wedding dresses from £70-£200+
amron 15-07-2007, 11:02 AM Is there are market for wedding dresses (off the peg!) in Sheffield for cheap wedding dresses. These are brand new and for an extra charge can be made to measure although deliver would take a while.
Regardless, these are not crappy dresses they are similar to the ones you find in Pronuptua but not their prices.
Mentalmomma 15-07-2007, 11:08 AM I would definately say so, if you can get the publicity. The dress for many a bride is the main point, but because of hoe expensive they are, for many they have to go far lesser than they'd want to, or even a suit in some cases. Personally think it'd be a great buisness idea.
Good luck!:D
ukstudent 15-07-2007, 11:11 AM Yes definately sounds like a good idea.
astronaut77 15-07-2007, 11:23 AM I think it's a great idea. More and more people are getting married abroad these days, and just want to buy a dress "off the peg" a couple of months before they go. THe only places I can think of that currently do this are M&S and Debenhams, but their ranges are quite small.
Good luck, sounds like a really great idea.
amron 15-07-2007, 11:30 AM If i can keep costs down and sell them like party plan (from home) i will have an idea if this will work without having to outlay a load of money. The plain single vei (sell for £10) an double veils with diamontie stones(£20) i can obtain, do you think these are worth stocking?
I can currently get pretty wedding invites with a wedding pouch/box to sell at £1.00 each Inc postage if anyone is interested.
amron 15-07-2007, 11:34 AM If anyone is interested, if you PM me with your e-mail i can send you in a selection of the pictures i currently have. But have to say these are the cheaper range from £70-150 pounds

I guess its supply and demand.

Ewdenstar 15-07-2007, 11:36 PM Your only issue might be how choosy people can be! You would need a big choice.
I also think that the second hand market has mileage - if you could set up an agency selling cleaned dresses second hand - they go so so cheap on ebay. I got my dress for £250 on ebay and it retails at £1.500. It is absolutely spotless and only needed £30 of slight alterations to the waist.
honeyb35 16-07-2007, 05:55 PM oooh sounds a fab idea! i'd definetly be interested in knowing more!
amron 18-07-2007, 08:58 PM I am calling this dress CHARITY as Charity from Emmerdale wore a similar dress. Does anyone remember it?
I am having it made in Rose chiffon with beige chiffon pleats across the chest and gothic style long sleeves in size 12. If anyone is interested in this dress but want it made all in beige or white or size 16, please let me know and i can have the first dress made to your requirements (you are under no obligation) Either colour/size will sell for £170.

amron 08-08-2007, 12:15 PM The dress looks fine but e-bay may be the place to advertise not a persons thread.
By the way people, that dress advertised on my thread can be made and sold new for about £170-£190
