Wasn't it the same last time in their last fight.
What has happened to all the British heavyweights?, we used to have lots.

The absolute pits - made me long for the glorious days of Joe Bugner (well, not quite, but even he was several leagues above that garbage).

I'd have given the bout to Sprot's trainer who slapped him round the face with a couple of rounds to go - by far and away the best blow landed during the fight!

The winner of this has got a crack at the world championship:hihi:

Nah that's just Frank Warren promotion talk. After the last Sprott fight against Fraudley, Warren said that they had a possible deal with the then current WBO champion Shannon Briggs. Well anybody who knew much about heavyweight boxing would have known that there was a fair chance that Briggs would have been dethroned by Sultan Ibragimov long before the winner of the domestic scrap could get a crack at Briggs.
Now that Shannon Briggs has duly surrendered his crown to Ibragimov it kinda leaves Warren promised title shot in limbo. Frank Warren must be glad of the dreadful show put on by Skelton on Sprott on Saturday night as he now doesn't have to explain too much why a title shot isn't going to be forth coming after all.

I suspect that Matt Skelton will be getting a crack at the WBU World Championship (which he has already held and vacated) in due course.

I think part of the problem with Heavyweights in general is that they are now simply so big and slow.

The likes of Ali at his peak, Marciano and Henry Cooper would have comfortably made Cruiserweight today (a division which didn't exist in their day). Even the "Mahogany Wardrobe" Sonny Liston was only 15 stones. Now, even when a Cruiserweight moves up he bulks up to 16, 17, 18st. Some are simply fat, some are musclebound, few actually make the extra weight tell in an effective boxing way, other than lying on the other guy in the clinches.

Yes i agree with you the present crop lack any skill even very little fitness. They are far to bulked up and lack of stamina is apparent. Most rely on landing a big punch, when that fails we get a mauling match,Mark Krence from Chesterfield is a blown up cruiser,a decent boxer with a good jab,but does not have the natural power to trouble 17 stone plus heavies. Its not just at european level even the Heavy scene in USA is in a state,i mean James Toney competing at heavy sums it up,also Evander Holyfield back in contention, nothing against him 10 years ago he was a legend, but after watching is last contest he should retire, and lets remember him for is great years.
