Hi,

I am looking to train for a career in IT but i am not sure where to start really.

Does anybody no who are decent training providers in this area and how much the fees are likely to be?

What would be the best career path in IT that is likely to lead on to employment after the course.

If anybody has been in a similar position and could offer me some advice i would really appreciate it.

Thanks.

What IT skills do you currently have? Don't be fooled by these places offering training for complete begginers which lead to some highly paid job.

My son enrolled at college and did a Btec 3 year course in IT studies when he had to change his career, he went full time but
you might be able to do night school if you are working. He found employment straight away when he'd completed the course .

Saying you want training in IT is a bit like saying 'I want to work with people'. There are a very large number of areers within IT, and the place to satrt is looking at what you want to do.

Are you interested in programming? Analysis? Networking? Hrdware installation?

Seriously - I would suggest you start by thinking about what sort of IT work you wnat to do and taking it from there.

Also, the money isn't as good as it used to be - some entry level jobs in IT are not well paid, so don't expect to walk straight in to a well paid job.
