This is where I shall be knitting for the next few days ... :)

sitting on a bench in my brothers garden, watching the seals swimming in the bay. It is lovely and quiet and I am hoping to feel inspired enough to complete another garment - it isn't that warm so I may need to finish this cardigan quickly!

Cheerio from the Hebrides.

Almost finished the back now Jill - hurrah! Off to see some old school friends on Iona this afternoon, who all knit too, so taking it with me do do more whilst we chat. Hoping sun comes out again, but then that is summer in the isles for you, rain and midges! :)

I have been told by people who own sheepies that it is possible to felt fleece whilst it's still on the sheep - if it rubs against a post (itch? boredom?) then the fleece can felt. Getting wet isn't going to do it alone, you need some form of friction (agitation).

I can say positively that the one thing you do get from knitting in the rain is terrible tension. I was knitting a sock in Millhouses Park last Sunday in the rain and I had to stop when the stitches refused to move along the needles. I think I would have been knitting for longer had it not been a cotton sock but I'm not that keen to repeat the experiment with all wool yarn.

Wet knitting is miserable. I tried knitting while Jay was in the bath once. One big splash and that was the end of that.

I see - lightbulb moment! So I'll look out for soggy sheep rubbing up against walls etc.

Made friends with these, but they did look a little worried when we got our knitting out, it is too cold today to be outside without a coat (or am I getting soft living 'south of the border'?)

It looks even more idyylic and peaceful than the earlier photos (jealous). In contrast, it is slinging it down here and from my viewpoint there isn't a sheep in sight.....well, not in sheep form anyway:D

If I bring a few back, can I swap the fleece for balls of yarn for my next project? LOL

This is where Kat, Ailsa, Lou and I have been sat knitting and knattering this afternoon, in between showers, but sunny again now. You can just see Iona Abbey in the left-hand side of the picture.

Must go before the rush hour on the ferry...ha, ha.

Finished the back on my cardigan, hurrah.

Today is my last day on the island before I return south again. So here is where I was knitting after watching the sunrise this morning. Surprised a few campers and dog walkers, but had a lovely chat to a young chap who was interested in knitting his own beanie hats!

Where we were last week was peaceful in the caravan. Hubby was doing a lot of reading so it was even quieter!

Fixed link for last photo.

Not quite so peaceful or relaxing now I am back, but knitting is continuing apace, especially as I have seen several things I would like to knit when visited Wool Baa when Debbie Bliss was there, but will finish last two projects before start new ones (it helps that the patterns/yarns are not available yet for the garments I want to knit...)
