I need to book a restaurant for a romantic anniversairy meal, for this Saturday, but don't know where the best place to go is! I need somewhere in Sheffield centre. Italian would be good, or anything really!

Where are your favourites???

Ooooh... well, depends what you're into.

I've taken the girlfriend to a few, so here's some favourites:

--------------------------------------------------

Trattoria Romana, 438 Ecclesall Road

This is a top quality Italian restaurant, and they always have a great selection of "specials". (The waitresses don't bother with the false Italian accent either... they're from Sheffield and they're proud of it!) I've been there about 3 times and always had a fantastic meal.

Tel: 0114 266 5491

--------------------------------------------------

La Mancha (West Street)

This is a Spanish tapas restaurant really, but has a great selection of main courses on the menu too. We didn't book and they really made the effort to move tables round and work out when bookings were coming in / levaing, etc. The food & service were both great.

Tel: 0114 273 8885

--------------------------------------------------

Slammers (Ecclesall Road)

A fish restaurant with an "edge"... this place feels romantic too. The presentation of the food was great, and tasted fantastic. It's a bit on the expensive side, but work it for a special occassion. However, it's take ur own wine - so that makes up for it I guess ;) If you don't like fish, don't bother going though, cos that's all there is on the menu (apart from 1 steak and 1 veggie dish).

Tel: 0114 268 0999

--------------------------------------------------

I hope that helps! Let us know how you get on.

Tony :)

if it wasn't for the "centre of sheffield" i'd have said Frankie & Benny's or Margeritas in Meadowhell... but that's just me...

jesus, stay well clear of la mancha. That was by far the worst tapas I have ever eaten and the service was just appalling. It's not romantic either, the waiters encourage standing on tables knocking back tequila and hand out sombreros to huge groups of women on hen nights. Not fun. Also when I was eating there, a drunken girl out on west street shoved her arse up against the window and half the restaraunt fell of their chairs in shock.

If you want tapas, I can heartily recommend Cubana. Nonnas is meant to be very good on eccleshall road for italian, and Pizza Volante on Glossop Road is very good.

By the way what happened to Casablanca on Devonshire green?

Well, all places have their off days (or nights) and you can't blame the restaurant for the arse against the window thing :?

BTW, I didn't have tapas there... so maybe that has something to do with it. When I went, it was romantic and not full of hen nights. There was a "family birthday" in there though, but the waiters' singing was quite civilised really!

Spinroc's in Crookes in quite good for Tapas, although I've heard many mixed views about there too.

I wouldn't recommend the Himilayan Indian Resturant either just off West Street. This is supposed to be the oldest Indian Resturant in Sheffield so I thought I'd try it for this novelty value alone. This was a couple of years ago but I was still disappointed and it's stuck in my mind ever since. I think it's unreasonable to be kept waiting from starter to main meal for above 45 minutes.

I went to la gondala on carver street (just off division street) with my girlfriend last night. Its excellenct. the food and serice were great. Its quite small and has quite an intimate atmosphere, as well as a varied menu.

Its an Italian by the way, I think it might be family run, but the waiters are very friendly.

We went to Blu Water bar by the canal, near Ponds Forge roundabout.

Very nice - great food, good selection, not too pricey, nice staff, very nice interior and great view!

I reccommend this to anyone - esp in the day when you can sit outside in the sun, a bit of calm away from the busy town centre.

Interesting.
Tell me, what type of food is on the menu?

Not in the centre, but I would recommend any of the following:

Marco @ Milano (Millhouses)
Slammers (Eccy Rd)
Thyme (Crosspool) - my favourite!
Mediterranean (Hunter's Bar)
Old Vicarage (Ridgeway) - very very expensive and a bit up it's own arse
Vito's (Walkley)

All worth a visit.

Also, see http://www.sheffschefs.co.uk/index.html for some reviews.

The landlady kicked them out - apparently she figured out she'd get more money out of a pub that was targetted at the residents-to-be of West Point. A pleasant, food-serving, airy, occasionally jazz-playing, buzzing, friendly, attractive but unpretentious, popular place obviously didn't fit the bill... Casablancas has moved to new premises on the other side of West Street, next to the purple steeplejacks (not sure the name of the road, though I think it's the one that Sinclairs is on the corner of).

That would be Glossop Road at the Junction with West Street methinks, just up from the old Glossop Road baths.

Would anybody posting on this thread please include the following information:

Smoking or not, especially interested in non-smoking restaurants rather than those with a designated non-smoking area, viz 2 tables.

Piped music or not, especially mention if it's possible to have a conversation without shouting

Whether or not they have a bring your own bottle policy. I do not like paying £12 for a £2.50 bottle of wine (True story: wine was £10 on the menu but had an Asda sticker on of £2.79)

Pizza Volante (Flyin' Pizza) on West street is ok (tho' not that romantic, lots of large party bookings) or San Lorenzo on Sharrowvale rd. If you choose your table well it can be v.cosy, the foods also good (try the Sicilian sausage starter!!).

Casablancas no longer exists at this venue! Me and some mates went to what we thought was Casablancas but found it has been replaced by a restaurant called Regent Terrace. Nothing like Casablanca's cosy atmosphere, its all stark 'minimalist' decor, menu on a blackboard-style, and was absolutely DEAD when we got there. Atmosphere of a dead fish. Plus, even though it was totally deserted we still got given the table by the toilet! Main courses are all £11.50-12 each (unlike Casablancas tasty well priced nosh) and there was not one single vegetarian option. We were told they could cobble together something but for that price you want something proper really dont u? Needless to say we left without ordering. Worst thing is, when we phoned to book the table we asked 'Is this Casablancas?' and they replied 'Yes.' Trust me, it isnt!!

Do NOT go to San Remos opposite Lloyds - its awful!

I would recommend Antibo (Italian) in West One. I haven't been there yet, but i have been to the one in Derby many times. The food is excellent and the menu varied.

My favourite restuarant in Sheffield is "Viva Latino" at Gleadless Townend. Brilliant food, brilliant atmosphere. After eating, dancing goes on until the early hours. The staff are friendly too. Difficult to think of a bad point really. Beware though if you want a late session on Friday or Saturday, as you will need to book about a month in advance

Bushbaby

Sorry, I meant "Viva Tequila"
And anyway, I've just found out it's now called "Mambo"
Well worth a visit though...

i think this new jap restuarant is abit swish! i went there on friday (bookings only on fridays n saturdays) the food is fantastic, i had a salmon bento box.. presentation and food tasted great! i would definatly recommend it to anybody who enjoys eating out, especially you!
there is a lil something for everyone, they have a tappenyaki area where the chef prepares your food right in front of you, all i could hear from where i was sittin were "oo's" n "ahh's" (i know where im going to be sitting next time i go!)

Cafe Rouge on Ecclesall Road is pretty good - french food. It's part of a chain but you wouldn't know it. Grouchos nearby is also a good place. I think they both have no smoking sides and I can't recall piped music. Bahn Nah in Broomhill (Thai) is a bit cheaper and I've had a couple of tasty meals in there. Sheiks, a Lebanese restaurant on West St (or possibly Glossop Rd, I'm not sure where one starts and the other stops) also does good food, is well lit and laid back.

Somebody asked about Casablancas on Devonshire Green...it's now The Green Room. I don't think they do food but its a chilled out bar with live music some nights.

absolutely ANYTHING at Millanos is good (Millhouses) - i'm vegetarian though so can't comment on their meat.
and also vegetable spring rolls from the thai royale (hunters bar).
or you could get a take-out from the tandori bilash (sharrow vale). all good.

Sheffield Hallam University Students Union in the NMB.....useful for comparison purposes only to good food....the chips they serve in the main bar at lunch times should be used as a taste level meter, starting with a score of minus 10.......texture of soggy toilet paper, taste of soggy toilet paper, smell of soggy toilet paper.....a culinary treat, served on obligatory wobbly paper plate that collapses after 90 seconds.

I wont mention the other gourmet delights on their student menu, just leave that to your imagination....it will help you appreciate ANY other restaurant in town with no exceptions.

Go to spinrocks in crookes

By far a blimmin nice meal guaranteed and foxy waitresses,

failing that there's Piccolos ,the food (Italian) is sexy.

Finally for bring your own wine there's an Italian on Division Street next to the Halcyon, its quite reasonable too, though sty downstairs unlesss you want the other half to be looking at a poster of Baggio on the wall (shocking I know) -

Oh its called BB's

good luck

Hey there
Being a chef myself & considering it's a birthday for 20 somethings, i'd say the best place to go would be the Jumbo Chinese buffet at the end of Norfolk street in Arundel gate, across the road from the Crucible.

The food is realy good & everyone can help themselves to whatever the want!
Prices are 4.99 each from 12pm till 4, then increase to 5.99 i think till 7ish & then is 7.99.
The later you go the more pricey stuff is brought out e.g. king prawns, peking duck with all the pancakes etc!

Beware, you can realy stuff yourself, as it's so good!, especially after a fiew drinks, make sure you don't want to do much afterwards, or you have restraint!
Enjoy
Rom

I would have to disagree somewhat with the Jumbo statement. At the weekends the food is ok/average but during the week it is awful. We have been on 3 seperate occasions during the week and it has been heavily salty and oily - and this comes from someone that usually puts 5x RDA of salt on each meal!

A fantastic place to try if you like that sort of thing would be the East Ocean Cafe on Matilda Street (just round near Woolworths side doors). It has just been done up and not open very long but is absolutely fantastic! It does Thai, Cantonese, Chinese and Japanese and contrary to the name also does other dishes that don't include seafood e.g fillet steak, yum! You can also see right through to the kitchen and see stuff being prepared, totally fresh, not like the rewarmed stuff you sometimes get at Chinese "all you can eats"

This restaurant is easily one of the best we have been to and as a team we have worked our way through most of Sheffield. A friend of mine had the Special Bento Box Set which is Miso Soup, Udon Noodle, 3 sushi rolls, japanese salad, vegetable tempura and a main course of your choice. She had fried Japanese Pork and Ginger and it was divine apparently as was my main course. The box set starts at £8 and goes up to £11.50 dependant on your choice of main. Prices for mains are £4+ with the most expensive thing we saw being a whole sea bass at £18 but the specials are changed daily. The soup comes in a very large porcelain bowl with a serving spoon. My team mate got 7 bowls of soup out of it, not bad for £3.20.
They also pour your wine for you unless you ask otherwise and will organise your food at your table, for instance, I ordered quarter of a duck to start and they bring it to your table and shred it for you there so you can see it is fresh and off the bone and not from a freeze pack.

Very good value and an excellent selection of beer, wine and spirits, it has smoking and non smoking areas, quite seperated from each other, we didn't even realise it had a smoking area until we booked over the phone for our 2nd visit and was asked our preference. Also has highchairs for the little 'uns.

My dad has been a chef for 28 years and enjoyed East Ocean Cafe more than the other chinese venues in Sheffield.

Italian - Cafe Buon Cibo in Broomhill
Indian - Ambar Ecclesall Rd
Sunday Lunch - Hammer and Pincers Ringinglow
French - Is there any?
Chinese - Not keen on all a that MSG

To be honest I'm really struggling to think of any worth mentioning as good restaurants, and Ive been to many over the years?

I think you need to travel a bit further away from Sheffield to get an interesting meal.

Thyme is superb, and may cater for 20 as a private party. It is on the more expensive side of things.

A friend on another forum had a v. bad experience (food poisoning) after eating at one of the all you can eat Chinese's and has contacted the env. health to check them out, so I'd not recommend going there just in case.

Cafe buon cibo is/was a bit of a microwave joint, and also v. small in size.

Thyme's the best in Sheffield, no question.

Though if you're after something cheap but tasty for a group outing, the Vietnamese Noodle Bar is really good.

Bit puzzled as to how Chinese/Indian buffets got a mention in a thread entitled "Best Restaurant in Sheffield"

Do you mean the No1 Oriental buffet Rom? Have been there, we were all ill!! We went as a group of 12 and not one of us felt ok the next day. The selection of food is ok but most of the dishes are based on noodles and their duck is very slimy. Possibly pre done and then warmed up.

As for the Indian (ChaChas) we haven't been yet but thinking about booking for a birthday on 20th this month.

Would completely agree with the comment about Froggies. We went for our team Christmas dinner and the food and service was amazing. I had French Onion Soup to start, Monkfish with tomato risotto for main and this chocolate stuff for desert. It was firm but smooth and came in a large slice, was gorgeous. The meal cost about £22 for all 3 courses. They also do a bring your own wine thing if you don't want theirs (and it is a little pricey) or beer if you don't like wine, and they will charge you £2 for every bottle of wine you take to cork it and for use of the glasses.

Would definitely go again. One of the best restaurants in Sheffield

Was totally underwhelmed by Thyme. Overpriced, poor service, waiters/waitresses with attitude.

My wife, who is a reasonably talented cook herself always uses the "could I have done it better/equally myself for the same/less money" measure? And in all cases the answer was yes.

Won't be going back - plenty of other places to try...

Has it changed ownership? It used to be Richard Smith at Thyme.. Richard Smith I presume being the chef? I went when it was still called RS@T and it was amazing! Expensive yes but big portions, fantastic food and wonderful, wonderful service. The most 'special' I've ever felt in a restaurant.

If you like Italian food, enjoy good wine and a nice atmosphere you can't go wrong with Vito's on South Road, Walkley. It used to be my regular and Vito is a great host. They've featured in quite a few of the local papers/mags and alsways get a great write up. Not overly expensive either.

Maybe not suited for a birthday bash if it's likely to get loud though.

thev'e gone bankrupt or something like that,
despite being more busy in the last few months than ever !
the building owner needs to sell up,and the buisines owner cant afford to buy it,so they'v been spending their profits, houses, cars, holidays, anything to hide the money !
i know someone whose worked there for over 25 years and who aint even getting the final weeks wages,

a developer has been trying to get permission to knock the whole thing down (bank house and everything) to build about 60 new luxury flats,4 storys high, the plans have just been turned down for the 3rd time, but .....

sorry if this has hijaked the original thread by the way !-)

Yes, I heard Jaguar Constructin which is apparently owned or part owned by Rod Wadsworth(family of Estate Agents)already bought up bits of Old Ecclesfied, its a shame really, I have also heard he has bought the Old Council building opposite the traffic lights on the bottom of Saltbox Lane.......wonder what fate awaits that.

It used to be, the last time I went it was horrible, you only got one spoon of rice (the mean gits).

I would recommend Wasabisabi for a birthday party, japanese food is a bit different and it looks and tastes so good. The restaurant is very stylish too.

If money is no object, try:
The Old Vicarage at Ridgeway (my personal favourite), or
Fischers, a little bit further out at Baslow.
I believe these are the only Michelin starred restaurants in the area. Hassop Hall near Bakewell is also good if you're not looking for an intimate sort of place.

Oriental buffet?! Come off it, those Chinese buffet place are okay for some grub when you're popping through town but come on- this is for a birthday, you want something a bit special. I agree with the person who mentioned Wasabi on London Road, classy place. Also, the new Thai restaurant next to Waitrose that used to be Barbarellas is excellent- the food and building are very impressive.

Wig & Pen is on Campo Lane, behind the Cathedral. I love it there - the wine glasses are HUGE. :D

Antibo is no more expensive than most other Italians. Between £5 and £10 for a starter and mains are from about £10 upwards. The menu is a huge leather bound affair, but it's a little misleading as the choice isn't as big as you'd think. But its nice.

Las Iguana's is where you're thinking of. And it's still there. Not really my cup of tea, as I went when the place first opened and the service was REALLY slow. But I hear it's got better...

Thyme in Crosspool couldn't - and doesn't - hold a candle to West 10 in Ranmoor. My brother also rates Carriages near Nether Green (Oakbrook/Hagingwater junction).

You'd struggle to get 20 diners into West 10, so you'd best go when you fancy something that little bit spesh (you're talking about £80 - £100 for two if you do it the right way, ie, drink incredibly good wines (Cloudy Bay) or champagne (Veurve Cliquout)). The food is astounding.

I just don't believe the hype regarding Mr Smith's eatery. But, each to their own.

My twopenneth:

Antibos - overpriced (especially the drinks), bland food and poor service

Las Iguanas - good, fun restaurant/bar with great cocktails and decent food

Yes Butlers is spot on and the onion bargies are brill,I even was given a free bottle of beer when I last went in there.

La vida loca in hillsborough (dodgy name but good food) is really nice and dead reasonable price wise, think owner used to co own flying pizza on west st. The mediteranean on sharrowvale rd also very nice but quite pricey. If you fancy a trip out and like indian then try the Aagrah restaurant in Woodlands, Doncaster- it's the only real indian around. Kumquat Mae on Abbeydale Road, veggie restaurant. Bad pun but the food is wonderful. Its not too cheap mind, about a tenner for a meal and dessert but more than worth it. Homemade and well made grub.

Iffypop, your right, the food in Jumbo is better than your average takeaway, but you can't take it away!
So takeaways will always be ok, but i'd never go to another chinese restaurant & buy a certain dish, when i can go to jumbo, pay a fiver & get many different ones! The food is just what you need after a **** up or basically anytime & thats what their there for!
The best Indian is the Kashmir on Spitall Hill, not licenced, but you can bring your own!
Anyway you lot, my business is cooking fresh food in your home, whatever the occasion, dinner parties, quiet nights in, specialising in Indian, Arabic, Mexican. I'll do the business, while you do what you do!

Tler, I love the way you use "Fact".

Reminds me of all that pseudo-scientific adverts on TV.

"Blah blah blah is best for this - FACT" normally with a stamping sound.

When it comes to rating restaurants, so many things come into play... what one person likes, another may dislike.

It may have been the chef's night off and the under chef is cooking, or you may have got the first/last of a batch so it may be better or worse than the rest.

I would have preferred it if you had said...

"Blah, blah, blah - in my opinion"

Keep tucking the napkin in...

Litotes, the 'Fact' did indeed come with a massive, stamped seal of approval.

After visiting both on many occassions (as well as a great deal of others in-between) they have never disappointed. Both take a great deal of care and attention to ensure that they are presented to a very high standard, the food is always of the highest quality and with refreshing options (try the Yorkshire Fishcakes on a bed of Pea-Puree at the Blue Room - always a winner), and the staff care about what they are doing.

And I'll tell you what else, take that 'special someone' to either, and they won't be let down. Fact.

But of course that is all in my opinion ;-)

I should add that there is a huge amount of other quality places to go for other tastes. Canton Orchard (Ranmoor) for Chinese, Jaflong (Crookes) or Vijays (near Empire Bar) for Indian, Cubana's (Trippet Lane) or Spinrocs (Crookes) for Tapas. Which are all fantastic, but I stand by my original choices as the best, as they are just a little bit special.

Do you remember when Blue Room was Medios? It was possibly Sheffield's first upmarket restaurant (okay, that might be over-egging the pudding) but when it first opened it was THE place to go.

They used to take your car away for parking upon your arrival. The result being that your Mercs and Rollies would be parked toward the entrance of the restaurant and your Sunbeams and Escorts and any old rust-bucket would be parked way out of sight!

It was a good place in its day. I had my 20th bd there in 1989. They did great sweets, ice creams with sparklers and all that. And the Stella was mighty fine too.

I was sad to see it go.

Am slightly surprised that no one has mentioned Nonna's on Eccy Rd as best Italian. I admit I haven't been to all the places listed but to me it is one of the best Italian restaurants I've ever been to (and I lived in London before coming to uni in Sheffield).

543!!!!

Stunningly simple, simply stunning cuisine! My date this evening was absolutely charming, it's now 6:30, I got home around 4 and I have been sat here smiling ever since!

The food was delicious, the gorgeous woman sat opposite me was the only thing more appetising than the menu but I digress...

We started with the bread and hand made crisps to share (£5) - I remembered reading about this elsewhere on this forum and I'm sure my description won't do this dish justice!

A soft baked ciabatta styled bread and some delicious hand made crisps served with 3 dips, each dip representing one of the three colours of the Italian flag: a tomato basil and mucho garlic pesto, an extremely garlicky mayonnaise and a cucumber onion and yes . . . you guessed it . . . garlic relish (which also had a pesto like flavour, perhaps owing to basil and olive oil).
For the first time ever in Sheffield I have eaten an appetiser which actually does what it says on the tin!
Although I may have described the dips as being very garlicky, and they were, somehow it was done in a very delicate way. In no way was the garlic overpowering, just very more-ish. Nor did the garlic mask or hide any other flavours, instead it provided a subtle yet stable backdrop for the palate, by which the other subtle flavours could be distinctly detected! I cannot recommend this option enough for sharing during a romantic meal.

Along with the starter we ordered a bottle of Tempranillo (£14, I think!) which had clearly been cellared properly and handled with much care. Good job too because this was, despite being a single grape wine, a very smooth and fruity drop, easy on the palate and well worth every penny. In fact the one bottle lasted us the whole meal but next time I think I'll take the equivalent of my whole budget for the evening, just for wine alone. Such a simple red would accompany any of the entrees in my opinion.

Onto the entrees, salmon was the choice for m'lady this evening and despite my not being able to eat fish, it certainly looked delicious. The vegetables were plentiful and in the absence of any complaint I believe they were as good as the rest of the food!
I had the quail on wilted leaves and beans with a honey glaze. In all honesty I believe this was likely the most "nouveau-cuisine" dish on the menu. For as I looked around in anticipation of our meal between the appetiser and the entree, the portions certainly seemed generous. However to see this tiny little quail perched on half a dozen green beans and a few gently roasted potatoes being served to all 6'2" of me was probably quite comical. Please don't misunderstand me, the game was delicious along with the accoutrements, and I'm sure piling the plate with vegetables under the bird would have been an aesthetic culinary faux-pas! The most absolutely cheesy line had to be rolled out and I meant it very genuinely when I passed my compliments to the chef! I believe the entrees were £12 each.

No dessert was necessary although we did indulge in aperitifs but by then my attention was entirely absorbed in conversation and I have no idea what they cost although for reference I had a well-matured cognac which finished the evening perfectly!

The atmosphere is upmarket yet relaxed, I was comfortable in smart jeans however my attention was almost entirely focused on my date so I didn't notice a dress code but the crowd seemed funky and cool without falling into any particular age group. Definitely beyond the average student so you can be fairly sure of a good crowd from what I could tell. The menu is simple yet elegant, comprising of many vegetarian and fish dishes. There was a steak and even a rack of lamb ribs for the very hugnry carnivore. The specials board was clearly written, also mostly fish but all looked absolutely enticing.

The service was slow in a comfortably relaxed way. Despite the night being busy, all the service staff were friendly and helpful without being intrusive, adding to the atmosphere of a personal and intimate meal.

This isn't a "budget" meal but worth every penny. Allow £80 for a meal for two, to include 3 courses, aperitif and a bottle of wine. It would be easy to spend twice this amount here in single evening for a long, slow romantic chat.

If you enjoy excellent food, service and drinks then this is a must. This restaurant is definitely in the "reasonable" price bracket, the reason being the dining experience offered here is like nowhere else I have found in Sheffield!!

Eat here, if only once in your life, it's the law!!!!!

i would recommend Antibos....the foods great and if you're lucky enough you might get served by Mo. The greatest waiter in Sheffield!

Depends what you get the munchies for when you've had a sniff of the wine cork!?

I'd always recommend the Jumbo Chinese Restaurant in Sheffield - it's great value & very clean & the staff are very professional & polite.
The bar isn't overpriced and, more than all that!
The foods wonderfull!

i think cubana just off west street has to be one of the best places to go, apparntly also lesley and roberto from big brother's favourite place, so maybe not the best place to go, but they have a great bar and a great atmosphere!

It's a cool place, but pretty small - does Lesley have to be airlifted in when she goes there?

tried Thyme last Friday, very nice, had starters and main course, I only just finished, other half was no where near finishing, service was good, food quality excellent, ambience reasonable.

Hi

What is your favourite restaurant in Sheffield?

I'm after great food, decent service, not too expensive, good choice for vegetarians that eat fish, good atmosphere, not really into chain restaurants, nr devonshire quarter or eccleshall road areas for a relaxing girls night out.

Cheers!

Crystal is a fantastic place to eat, The service is good and the manager goes out of his way to please although is a little camp, the bar is great especially on a Tuesday when all the drinks are cheap.

I too would reccomend Crystal have been there many times recently and it is myself and my wifes favorite, my wife actually has the managers phone number and calls him personally when we want a table we have found him to be most helpful even if we have called late and found they are very full which they often are. He always does his best to find us a corner. As for the latter comment my wife says he looks like prince william which cant be a bad thing i guess!

DON'T GO TO CHACHAS!
The service is appaling, the male waiters are arrogant and one in particular was downright rude, humiliating a young waitress in front of customers.
They also always dispute the bill trying to get extra money out of you.

PLUS THEY CHARGE FOR TAP WATER???!!!!????!!!!

Just come back from Seasons on Abbeydale Road.
Had a really lovely meal and was just under £30 a head with wine, drinks, three courses and coffee. Creme Brulee was the nicest i've tasted in ages AND with date and walnut cake (Yum!)
Really relaxed atmosphere and staff that look like they care - probably the owners but it really makes a difference to the place.
Please put an extra veggie choice on the menu or a special so i can come back next week.

I have been to the Walnut Club twice for lunch. Great food (100% organic), great setting, good service.

Roughly how much would it cost for us to go to Froggies for two starters and mains and some wine? Can anyone tell me?
