Those of you as sad as I am may get a couple of minutes of mild amusement from this one.
The governments intergrated transport journey planning portal, www.transportdirect.info has it's second test version live.
The ideal is you can plan a journey from anywhere to anywhere in Britain, by any type of public transport or car, you just enter the postcode of where you are starting and finishing, and it works out all the bits inbetween.
However it does seem to give out some bizzarre results, such as Sheffield-Bradway get 293 to Tinkers Corner, then wait 7 minutes for the 25A for a 30 second journey to the next stop, rather than just walking the last bit, for Swallownest to Derby to arrive by 9am you apparantly have to set off the night before if you use public transport, and from Wombwell to Sheffield it suggests getting a train to Barnsley and changing trains onto a Sheffield train that then, erm, stops at Wombwell...
As for car journeys, some of the journey times at rush hour seem rather optimistic!
