I have accidentally uninstalled my DVD/CD burning software. I didn't get back-up disks when I bought the pc recently.

I have looked at the price of nero 6 (£60) but don't want to plunge in and fork this out unless I have to. Is there anything cheaper?

Any ideas anyone?

You can get Nero 6 a lot cheaper if you shop around... I wouldn't recommend anything else to be honest..

Well, I either use iTunes or Nero v6.0 to do simple burning, or Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 (£69) to "play with my music and video".

Just download Nero 6 and then crack it. Works for me ;)

Or you could pay for it...

That's not legal though.

I don't think Sam wants a visit from teh Coppers.

I would actually assume that if he had it on his system pre-installed he would be entitled to re-install it from another source provided it was the same version.

The only thing I use for DVD burning is "Record Now Max", it doesn't look as pretty as Nero or the other stuff but it kicks ass, it burns DVD's, its reliable, and it wont mess things up like nero can.

It was going ridiculously cheap as an OEM.

Pick up a bargain here! (http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=3740173783&action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=74818)

The only differance of OEM vs. retail is the retail has instructions.

Yes, Roxio is the dogs "bleeps". I don't like drag-to-disc though, which is why I use the other part of the burning suite (still from Roxio) or Nero.

But everything else - it's Roxio.

No need to get touchy, Rich!

Each to their own of course ;)

I just don't see why you should have to pay for something when you can get it for free! :D

Just to say thank you so much.

As a result of this thread, I am now fully equipped in the DVD burning software department.

Great stuff.
