Hi. I am currently researching my family- the Mountains- and I have found out that William ( my great great grandad) had something to do with the Grapes Pub in Sheffield in 1901. Just wondered if anyone knew anything about this pub or about my family. Thanks

I don't really know too much about the pub.

If you want to find the pub it's on Trippet Lane in Sheffield.

I played there once, it's a nice pub.

Do you not know what your great great Grandad had to do with it? No idea at all?

Betsyboo I would highly recommend a visit to the grapes. It is one of the last examples of a traditionally laid out pub in the whole of sheffield. It has a bar in the corridor and three seperate rooms, and a concert room upstairs.

It is probably little changed from your grandparent's time. The corridor has very old and charming tiling and leaded windows too. Although at weekends it is very busy, and upstairs is a regular gig night. The people who go in are lovely and not towny types at all.

My sheffield pub guide bood states that the Grapes used to be the venue of the Transatlantic Brides and Parents Association
