The forecast for Sunday is for Sunny Intervals so as a number of people have expressed interest in Walking Sunday I'm suggesting we try Graves Park.

I'm not too familiar with this area - the last time I was there I suspect I was being pushed round in a pram - so it was a "few" years ago :)

I suggest meeting up at 10:30 at Graves Park Hemsworth Road/Cobnar Road; the 20A Bus runs from Hillsborough to Hemsworth through the town centre and stops at Graves Park Hemsworth Road/Cobnar Road. You can see the timetable here
http://www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/yorkhumber/southyorkshire/timetables/timetable.php?day=3&source_id=2&service=20/20A&routeid=1282553&operator=26&source=sp

If anyone can add any helpful advice/tips feel free - or better still come along.

Rob and I should be able to join you for this - don't know Graves Park all that well, though.

And thats in the days when prams were called perambulators and people generally had nannies to push them round:hihi:

According to the Sheffield Round Walk booklet "Graves Park Animal Farm provides a home to some of the rarest breeds of farm animals in the country"

You learn something every day.

I never realised that prams were available in the olden days. (Spelling books weren't either!).

I hope the weather stays fine. I'm off to London so I will not be with you.

Five of us turned up for this one, a really pleasant stroll through Graves Park along with all the other strollers, fun runners, footballers, fishermen, nannies pushing their perambulators and various rare breed animals. We even ventured a little further afield to the Bishops House and Meersbrook Park - which must be reserved for people walking funny looking dogs :hihi:

The Bishops House is well worth a visit, it's free to go inside but no photography is allowed - so no piccies.

The weather was "where is my suncream" one minute to "where's my waterproof" the next - but really only a few spots of rain and didn't get wet, I didn't even feel the need to put my waterproofs on.

As usual I've uploaded my pictures onto Picassa here

I've also uploaded a short movie of view from Meersbrook Park here

I wish I'd be able to come to this as it was my request orginally for a walk that could be done in flipflops! But it was Woodseats Festival weekend and I opened the shop ... maybe next time, eh?

Glad you all had a good time, great pix!

Bit more of a stroll than a walk today, but really enjoyed it. Was nice to visit Bishop's House again and see that its still being well looked after. :)

Some great shots of the animals there Neo, and the roses in the garden too, i didnt see you taking those!

Yes, it was more of a stroll today but that suited me fine as I wasn't feeling my best after a late night at a wedding reception in Pontefract on Saturday. Rob enjoyed it too, especially the Bishop's House. Didn't even take my camera - I knew Neoteric would take more and better shots than I could - and he did:)

i hadn't had much sleep either so this walk was just right for me . Why i ate the chocolate brownie before the chicken tikka sandwich from the cafe i'm not sure but both were fab!

Binty -get your tail down for the next one! :hihi:
