Depends which shop you go to rather than if it's meadowhall or Sheffield.

2) Hmm... Being a foreigner to these parts myself , I can't really say - however Meadowhall will have more choice; ask yourself the question: Do I want to be in a shopping centre that always has the air-con broken, and always packed.. :heyhey:

Are you looking for named brands or really cheap?

Cheap: try the Moor markets or jonathan james near Castle market. Matalan, or Asda in Handsworth.

Names? Doncaster lakeside (formerly known as Yorkshire Outlet) has factory clearance stores

As it's extremely cold here at the moment (compared to Melbourne especially!) then if I was you I would go to Meadowhall.

But as I'm a tough northener :P I can stand the cold and the city centre is closer to me ;)

In terms of price there isn't much difference, it depends where you shop.

If you want a really cheap palce try windsors world of shoes.

Hey. By far the best place for cheap trainers is Soccersport. I got some brilliant trainers for £5! Can you believe it! I asked my mate how much she thought they were and she said £35. They do all the normal stuff like nike and adidas and reebok. There is one in the Moor in the city centre, and another big one in Meadowhall next to the H&M. Try them out!

I went into town today to do some shopping, went in along the wicker, down along past the crucible, saw how busy it was, come round the little roundabout where the careers office used to be, back out past the crucible, down the wicker and onto Meadowhall. I don’t like paying for parking, I would sooner be indoors rather than out in winter, and I feel it would be safer parking at Meadowhall than town, I only go into town centre if I have to.

Depends which part of Sheffield you live.
I live in North Sheffield and a good place to try would be "Wards shoes" on the Thorncliffe industrial estate at Chapeltown.

Furthur south try "Wynsors world of shoes" at Thurcroft, both good value.

I avoid Meadowhall at all costs... Why shop in a over crowded shopping centre when you can wander round town and partake in a pint to get ya energy back for the next stint :D

medowhall puts me in an instant foul mood... I think the place has bad karma, I dont go unless its un-aviodable and then its allways a S.A.S trip

Well you're right Sheffield centre isn't crowded any more. The last 20 people who used to shop there have got on the tram and gone to Meadowhell. Years ago you'd go down town on Saturday morning to avoid the crush on Sat afternoon.

There's a pub in the Oasis for the 'energy input' isn't there?
