due to the wife leaving i have had to make a claim for child benefit,does any one know how much i should receive for my two children aged 11 years and 14 years? ive tried telephoning the CB office in Newcastle but its always engaged,i need to know so i can sort my shopping/payments etc for the week.thanks.

The ammount should be roughly:

Eldest Child: £16.50pwk/ £66pmth
Younger Child: £11.50pwk/ £46pmth (Approx)
+ Maintinence payments pwk/mth

(You should in addition;get child maintinence payments, off your ex-partner)


What number have you called for C.Benefit?? 0845 3021444

If you have 'no joy,' call the C.S.A -who will have to know whats happening with your wife's maintinence payment's anyway.

Not sure on the exact amount but up to my daughter going to uni in September I got about £106 for 4 weeks for an 18 year old and a 14 year old, if this helps!

I now get £60 and some odd pence (I get mine into the bank so can't remember the exact amount) for a 14 year old for 4 weeks.
