Has anyone heard of the eBay treasure hunt?

It started a few days ago and each day up until Jan 3rd they are giving away prizes. They gave away a new Mini Cooper yesterday and an Ipod every hour today.

There are clues given out and by word association/trivia knowledge etc you have to search to find the spoof item which leads to the prize.

I think I'm addicted but the clues are SO hard!!
Anyone else been dragged into this?! I'm glued to my computer!!

I'm trying at the moment isha! It's really hard though! searching for absolutely anything (however tenuous) I can think of to do with mince pies!

I have seen it, the ring and cars have been good prizes, but I dont have time to look through ebay 24/7 (car with the clue holly was won within 40 seconds!!)

I'm confused too!
Have you read the forums on the eBay site? There's extra clues and stuff on there and apparently there is one clue for every few iPods, but they aren't even putting them on at fair times, the one for 12pm wasn't listed until 12.45pm apparently...nightmare!!

I give up! reading the hints useful, but think there may be a bit too much competition out there... Might try again later!

So how do you find it? Does it say in the item title that it's the competition answer auction or do you have to look inside every listing that your search brings up?

I don't get it  :help:

I found one that said it in the main description but when I clicked to bid the bidding had closed a few seconds before!

Have you seen how many of them are threatening to take the winning bidder to court for their winning bids!:o

What does it actually say in the auction then? And do you have to bid?

I'm confused? I have found loads of spoofs already, how will I know it's the real thing?

I give up, i feel stressed with it. It would probably be cheaper to buy an Ipod than to pay for all the pills to make me better after i find it.

Thats what a winning page looks like

You can either bid, or buy it now.

The clues are all based on ingredents within a pince pie, or things you put over them, like currants, peel, money, brandy, wine etc...

The last one to be one was a UB40 ticket stub UB40 - Red Red Wine!

Pah!

What a damn good publicity stunt!
