After finding that Princess bam-bam doesnt like being groomed and gets rather funny about it i decided to give her a hair cut. Shorter hair means she doesnt have to be brushed as much which will stop her getting stressed. She took the cut very well, she had a bit of a fidget at the beggining but eventually streched out and relaxed.
This was my first time giving her a hair cut so it doesnt look brilliant, ill have plenty of practice with her as her hair grows like mad.

Also does anyone know where i can get some small animal clippers, they do them for dogs & cats but they look huge. I need some quiet ones that have attachments and so on.
she looks fab and in such lovely condition too- whatever hair product she uses, remind to try it as well!

struggling to find anything specifically for GPs or bunnies but there are a couple of compact clippers on this site that might be a better fit

Is Bambam a peruvian piggy? i used to keep them and they have to be my very favourites,i always found it better to trim the hair than let it grow and tangle which it does very easily as its so silky.
Thanks for the link, the little pocket sized ones are the type i was looking for, i wanted something that wasnt too big so they didnt scare her.
Yeah bambams a peruvian, as shes young shes never had really long hair but it was growing fast and she doesnt like being brushed too much (she also has a problem with her stomach being touched and it stressed her out alot when i brushed her side hair aswell) So the clip was the best idea, that way shes happy and her hair stays nice.
She has very silky hair and its really thick aswell, they are a lovely breed.
One of my piggies has longish hair and unfortunately at her back end it gets very mucky from dragging around the dirty bits of the cage and litter tray so she gets a regular hair cut. Unfortunately hairdressing was never my strong point, she gets the pudding bowl trim :hihi:

If you find its getting knotted a lot, keep it extra short around the bottom. If it gets too knotty I have been told that conditioner mixed in water applied with a spray works very well. Also, gorgeous guineas has a special shampoo for long haired piggies
