I did it!! Yesterday. There were strong winds which made it a bit scary, but I was up there. Wow.

When I was doing the Bridge Walk, we weren't allowed to take anything of our own onto the Bridge - they even gave us a hankie attached to a bit of elastic to loop around the wrist!!!
We had to wear these very fetching (NOT!!!) grey nylon all-in-one suits!! :gag:
Had an alcohol breath test and a vertigo test before we were allowed anywhere near the Bridge!!!
The walk leader was the only one allowed to take a camera - hence the dodgy pictures - the wind blew my hair every which way and in the pic it was Ginger!!!!

Yes, got a series of dodgy photos, but memories of a good day. Am now in Auckland visiting my sister & family. We're planning a walk on Mt Rangitoto over the next couple of days. Then I leave for home on the 14th.

Arrived back home just 30 mins ago. Whilst in Auckland I managed a climb up Rangitoto and also a trek round the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park. Will be up for a local walk soon.

Re "Up for a local walk", how about your old favourite Wharncliffe Crags, but without the rock scramble this time?
Buffet on offer too lass!
