It all started so well last night. For the first 10 minutes we played some decent football. Brunt missed after 5 minutes from a cross by Maclean. Whelen crossed a great ball in and O'Brien scored on his debut. Beautiful I thought.

Then they got a dubious penalty, one of many ****e refereeing decisions on the night. I thought it was ball to hand not the other way round. Hull just capitalised on it all night from then on.

The villain of the night was Bullen. What a tosser! Was was he thinking with that pathetic back pass? Barmby scored to make it 2-1 whilst the Hull fans were still streaming in. If I were Sturrock i'd drop him, and I don't mean from the team!

Their 3rd goal was class to be fair from Barmby. We gifted it to them though with crap defending. Story of the night i'm afraid.

It was men against boys last night. They were a decent side, we were rubbish. Simple as that. The defending was rubbish, the only plus point is that we're still scoring goals and Whelen and J.P are great going forward.

Without making excuses, the referee was crap as well. But thats not to say we were any good 'cos we weren't and Hull were the best side by far i've seen this season.

They bought a huge vocal following, but to be fair Hull are a fair sized club who have been languishing in the lower leagues for years and Hillsborough has an away end of 7000, which is the capacity of a whole stadium in this division and a trip to wednesday is a novelty for them.

Now Ndumbu is out and Marsden as well. Somethings gotta be done. Sturrock's hands are tied. Its time I feel that Allen drops his hard man stance and listens to Hobson. The club will go to the wall otherwise. Hobson's offered £200,000 for players. Not much but I bet he's got more if he's offered a place on the board. Even Bates at the minute sounds good to me, we've gotta do something soon. I'm sick of having my hopes raised only to have them destroyed every time we have a big game. The fans won't take much more I can tell you.

my mate who is an owl season ticket holder said he was not going to any more games and this was an atrocious performance!
now personally i cant see it being that bad, and think he is going over top a bit!
but for him to say that (and i never hear him slate performances usually) made me wonder

We WERE that bad. I am a season ticket holder and I think that was the worst performance of the season by a long shot. The defenders may as well have stayed at home and I have never really rated Bullen but that performance has cemented my unconfidence in him.

Best performer on the night for us was probably.....Collins or JP.
They are both usually better than the other night but they were the best we had on that particular night.

<--- Sheffield Tiger here

yes, you were bad...but I don't mean that mockingly. Well, yes I do, but realistically I expected you to get the two goals back in the 2nd half. Because some of our passing in the 2nd half was atrocious. We were saved from a comeback because Wednesday failed to make anything of the balls we gave away.

But yes, even for us with an above-average ground for the division, Hillsborough is a "mini-wembley"...but the Owls need to look and ask - is that all Wednesday is becoming...a ground and a large following?

On to the ref though...yu're right, he WAS bad. But there were enough decisions that looked dodgy from the west stand too. And plenty of ball-to-hands that didn't get penalised. It was an unlucky penalty but not an unfair one (but then I would say that)

Oh and;
There's only one Nicky Barmby!

Squiggs, did you by any chance see what happened in between the West and the South at half time? I saw someone on the floor and a stretcher been carried whilst the stewards were all crowding around. I couldn't see very well from the Kop but I know that it wasn't a Wednesdayite feinting because of our performance!!

Despite being in Z I missed that....gone for a leg-stretch. I'll ask a workmate who was just round the corner on the south

Take a read of the Laws of the Game and you will see that handball has to be intentional, in the referees opinion. To use your terms, hand-to-ball

exactly. Ball to hand (accidental maybe - but that's the ref's decision) was penalised. Hand to balls didn't get penalised.. your point is?

(oh no I forgot, you didn't get a point - we took all three! )
