ive got a thick layer of something (looks like egg) on my windscreen and was wondering what the best way of getting it off without damaging my windscreen is.

I would have thought first thing to try is hot soapy water and plenty of elbow grease.8)

failing that, try your ice scraper with the hot soapy water, that shouldnt damage the screen and will clean the stuff away more easily.

However if your ice scraper is a credit card, then I wouldnt suggest using that!

Watch that the water isn't TOO hot in the current cold weather - too uch hot water on a cold screen can cause thermal shock which will manifest itself in a possibly weakened windscreen.

Try hand - hot detergenty water. If the coating is hard, soak a cloth in the water and lay the cloth over the messed up area. Leave it and then apply the elbow grease after it's been there for a few minutes.
