I've just seen this story (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/dorset/6264694.stm) that describes a page on the net someone has made in honour of a local tramp and was wondering if there are any characters like that in Sheffield that someone could make a page on - there may already be such pages of course ? Only person I know of was the blonde girl asking for money mentioned on some threads but havent seen her for a while :)

Don't know if he's classed as a Tramp, but "Troggy" from the Manor would be a good laugh. :D

How about the dancing hunters bar tramp? Dancing on the roundabout or by the entrance to the park. Can often be found outside spar too.

Hes always down near the markets- then there is the really tall
guy with dirty messy hair, who mumbles/makes noises but then
talks normally in a quite upper class voice about really intelligent
stuff

Although I'm fairly sure the OP means no harm, perhaps rather than making web pages about some of our colourful 'street people' it might do us all rather more good to actually take the trouble to say hello to them and introduce ourselves?
Incidentally, the guy with the football shorts and the gent with the straggly long hair aren't homeless to the best of my knowledge.

i have a good cross city tramp

this gu you will know of or at least heard if you have been anywhere inthe town centre. he is called derik bull and is constantly playing one anoying tune on a penny whistle.

used to have long hair and a big beard but shaved it all off.

he used to spend his time round donny town centre up to no good but now it seems as if he has managed to scrape the bus fair together to get over to faragte.

keep your eyes peeled, you will notice him soon enough. rember penny whistle

The guy with the bottles of cider and his bicycle, dancing and singing away to his old-school personal stereo, stopping only to have a mouthful of cider (or to fall over his bicycle)

Craig(?) I think his name is

they should certainly include 'tommy' the irish fella that used to hang around in crystal peaks and the milestone. he had the mantra that he was the friendliest tramp in sheffield, despite the fact that he was about as pleasant as a kick in the teeth

I had a funny encounter with Gemma the other day. I was approached by her outside the Forum bar and was given the usual "I've got no money, need bus fare" shtick. I vaguely recognised her from seeing her around and from the many posts here so I said "Are you Gemma?" She cautiously admitted she was so I pressed on by saying "Do you know you're famous in Sheffield for your act?" She sighed and said resignedly ""Yeah, yeah, technology innit? Anyway I've lost my bus fare...etc".

It wasn't funny enough to make me part with any money though.

i went to junior school (firshill) with craig. used to come round for tea etc, etc.
he got into glue sniffing in roe woods and it all went down hill from there.
he was a good mate.
