prescottspie 14-08-2007, 01:31 PM Shefstock is on this weekend, 17-19 August 2007 for 3 days of music fun and camping!
Sorry for the delay in getting tickets on sale. You can now buy tickets from Airy Fairy, London Road, Sheffield until 5pm Friday 17th at the bargain price of £5! Please note that tickets may cost a little more on the door, and parking is subject to a £2 fee per car.
To find out the location, keep an eye on http://myspace.com/shefstock or call 07506 550 850.
The party will be in full swing from Friday evening, with gates opening at 5pm. There will be fantastic bands all day Saturday and Sunday, such as amazing 10 piece French ska band La Casa Bancale, trippy hippy 60s sounds from Mojo and the beatniks, up and coming West Yorkshire rockers Cyclone Pink and many many more.
Beats all day and all night right through the festival, including Riddimtion, Sequoia, Dub Central, Junglist Alliance, Clearance Sale, This Way Up, Camouflage Disco, Industry Street and loads more.
There will be a children's area, healing area, drumming circle, stalls, food and plenty more, and the weather forecast is looking good!
WE STILL URGENTLY REQUIRE VOLUNTEERS!!
Offer your services as a volunteer for one of many roles (stewarding, gate, first aid etc) and get your fee refunded – beer and food for extra hard workers! pm me to sign up in advance.

prescottspie 16-08-2007, 12:51 AM I can now reveal the location - it will be at Grenoside, at the usual party location. Full directions will be posted on myspace and on the party line. See you there!
alice8cake 16-08-2007, 04:22 PM Where is it?????????
prescottspie 16-08-2007, 05:06 PM Grenoside! As previously stated, the directions will be up shortly, and as soon as I receive them (I dont drive so my directions would be useless!) Ill post them here. Sorry for the delay on this, Ive been working today and unable to contact the organisers. Ill put em up asap.
snail 17-08-2007, 01:02 PM Hi there i know where it is now, am i allowed to disclose the directions????
prescottspie 17-08-2007, 01:07 PM yeah, sorry guys bit slow off the mark today been so busy.
here goes:
For a detailed map of the area go to maps.google.com search for grenoside then look for woodhead road on the north of it
The 77 bus is the nearest to the site (ask for Grenoside Woods/ Woodhead Rd) from sheffield bus station timetables and maps from www.yorkshiretravel.net
Directions from Sheffield + Leeds
A61 (Halifax rd)North (South from Leeds) off Granville Square from Sheffield city centre
Turn left (right form Leeds) onto Norfolk Hill rd
Turn right onto Wood Head rd
Travel a mile and a half
Site is on left
There is also a phone number to call which is 07506 550 850 There won't be as much info on the phoneline so I recommend looking at the website. Advance tickets are no longer avalible online so if you live in another city and haven't e-mailed your details yet, then Im afraid its too late so you will have to pay full price on the gate. Volunteers will get their ticket price refunded after compleation of a 4 hour shift. If you work longer you can earn yourself free beer and food as well as getting that lovely warm feeling from knowing you've been a part of it.
More photos from last year can be found at Madsnapperphotos.com
Joe90 17-08-2007, 02:09 PM will be passing through sometime early Sunday morning
Preacher Man 20-08-2007, 04:14 PM i feel like dying!! 19 hours of solid partying before going to the pub near my house have left me in no fit state to be in work..
prescottspie 20-08-2007, 04:18 PM hehe tell me about it! barely slept and worked pretty much the whole festival leaving not a lot of time to party, but it was still a blast! cant wait to see the pics. the rain even added to the atmosphere.
a big big thank you to all that helped us out, we're a small group and we didnt have much to offer the volunteers who were all fantastic and happy to do pretty much anything to help!
hope you all enjoyed it! it was still going when we had to call it a day about 9 last night and looked set to continue all night long
Preacher Man 20-08-2007, 04:37 PM well thank you very much for organising it!
and the rain was perfect for cooling me down when i got too hot from dancing like an idiot..
think i chatted the ear off every person there but by the time i left i could dance no more. just about had the energy to walk around the tents trying to find my discarded coat and shoes?? then get in a taxi to my mates house!

jennie2102 10-06-2008, 08:47 PM Is there gonna be a Shefstock this year? I'm WELL up for it!
prescottspie 11-06-2008, 02:11 PM Hi Jennie
I won't be involved this year but will ask the organisers and post what I find here. Last I heard was that someone else was going to take it on and make it a more professional affair, but wanting to charge £50; I should point out that this was just word of mouth and this was back in the winter.
The last couple of years have been dogged by infighting and differences of opinion between the committee, especially when it comes to the issues of ticket price and so on. As such I have decided to step back from it - it's not meant to be about arguing now is it?!
Preacher Man 11-06-2008, 04:00 PM im quite gutted to hear that pp.
to me, and to a lot of other people, the soul of sheffstock comes from the free party and alternative scene. the likes of nta, the days when club shushh was not a club, the wicked venue beside republic, the earl, lescar, vine, stag works, yellow arch, club 60, old abandoned factories beside the river, 9 ladies etc.
sheffstock was an extension of that scene, you paid a fiver to help cover costs and that was it. you had the likes of riddimption with their sound systems. If your going to charge £50 there is the worry that the cliental might change. i assume it would have to be more heavily advertised to attract more people to cover the costs of proper toilet facilities and what not.
One thing that typifies it for me was sitting around a fire last year smoking. a gang of local lads turned up in their trackies, they took a look around and then got totally involved. they loved the atmosphere and the fact they didnt have to worry about any trouble starting!
i hope it doesnt lose its soul and they dont ruin my favourite day/night/day of the year in sheffield.
prescottspie 13-07-2008, 12:33 PM Well, I can confirm that Shefstock will not be happening this year.
I think there are too many fried nerves from last year. Watch this space...
