There was also BBC van with a satalite dish on top..

There was an article in the paper the other week and it said they are now the most secure bar in shefffield.

They apparently take pics of everyone on entry and also do full searches.

It's still a late bar as far as i'm aware. I just think it calls it's self a nightclub.

Last time i went must have been a good five years ago and it was a total dive! Can't imagine a lick of paint and a new door policy has changed much!

Tony Blair, David Blunkett and loads of coppers are there because of Berlins (Sorry Purple's) success being the most secure bar and their new policy on under-age drinkers - Yep the place is being reckonised for something it's been nortorious for doing exailty the oppsite for years.

I went in (I'm ashamed to say) about 6 months ago and it's very much a paint job, same sticky carpets, dodgy smell, it even still says 'Berlins' on the dancefloor railings.

These days they always a que as they're asking folk for ID - that's really about it.

i went in ages ago and some random girl got up on pole/stage and started "dancing" and stripping a bit, very classy

I went in when it was still berlins and i have to agree that the place did have a strange smell to it, i never went back in after that, and when they changed the name i didnt assume the place had changed for the better just the name and i think that the opinion of most
