Though I haven't done any for a while. I have loads of kits and charts buried in my stash. Every now and then I have a craving to dig one out, though lately I've been busy with knitting and other embroidery stuff. Just realised last week that I have cross stitch pieces I completed over ten years ago that I still haven't got around to having framed :o . Grim Reaper 03-07-2007, 11:49 I do. These days, I seem be spending more time on the computer (SF!!) than with a needle in my hand....!!!! holidayhutch 03-07-2007, 22:54 I cross stitch all the time and have also taught it in the past when I volunteered at the local Hospice. Have been doing it a good 20 years now and love it. MsEle 06-07-2007, 21:50 I haven't done any cross stitch since school - but I love Kate Pemberton's Dos-stitch http://katepemberton.com/work.php?project=Dos-Stitch baileys_mum 07-07-2007, 10:37 Me! Hoping to get my teeth back in to some soon once the tiredness wears off, I've got a baby afghan I'm working on for a friend and Henry VIII and his wives for myself. Be 2010 before I finish them lol. loopylulu 03-08-2007, 16:11 :)Im a cross stitcher too - although since getting on t'internet havent done much stitching:) marisa ignaz 05-08-2007, 09:58 I love cross stitch and have o work going all the time, actually I'm addicted i must say!! Well if you can make money from what you love doing then why not! Welcome to the forum :) Hayley1 17-10-2007, 14:37 Hi Stitchy Guy I noticed you went to the Knitting and stichy show at the NEC, were there many cross stitch suppliers there? we're going to the one at Harrogate next month fluffy&pink 26-11-2007, 22:09 I have just taken it up at the tender age of 24! I don't suppose anyone wants to suggest where to get nice kits from in town (and reasonably easy- i am still a novice) Hayley1 27-11-2007, 15:38 short of Hobby Craft, I'm afraid Sheffield lacks a good stitchy shop - I get most stuff online. kittenta 27-11-2007, 16:29 I have just taken it up at the tender age of 24! I don't suppose anyone wants to suggest where to get nice kits from in town (and reasonably easy- i am still a novice) How much of a novice? My first few kits were small ones that came free with the magazines so maybe it would be worth going to a good magazine shop. Sheffield does lack good shops for cross stitch items unless you go to hobbycraft of course. Rosi-Maus 22-04-2008, 18:49 Hi, I'm a cross stitcher, too. I learnd cross stitching when I was 13 in school and then gave it up again but restarted about 7 years ago. I love stitching animals (especially tigers and cats which are my favourites), Winnie the Pooh designs by Debbie Minton for Designer Sitches and romantic pictures. At the moment I'm stitching a picture called "Curiosity" with three cats in bookshelves - very cute. A also participate at a Round Robin. I've only just moved to Sheffield and wonder if there's a cross stitch group here that I can join? Bye, Rosi Hayley1 23-04-2008, 15:50 I haven't found one yet, but there's at least two of us now in the S6 area Rosi - maybe if we got a couple more we could start our own  Rosi-Maus 23-04-2008, 17:16 Hey, that would be absolutely great! Anyone else who is interested? I'd love to meet other cross stitch addicted and make new friends, too. bloom1961 23-04-2008, 17:18 I am in s6 aswell dont get much stitching done at moment as doing house up but would love to meet other stitchers I also have loads of kits forsale as i use to sell on ebay but given it up now with them getting so greedy with fees ect Rosi-Maus 23-04-2008, 17:43 I haven't done much cross stitching since December - mainly the Round Robin I participate at at the moment and a surprise for two girls of my German cross stitch group as they were pregnant. I did a practical training in the company where I work now (in the Bavarian office) and didn't have much freetime to stitch for myself. Now I can't wait to finish my picture I had started in August. I think it would be fun to meet once or twice a month to stitch together and talk about cross stitch problems and chat. Hayley1 24-04-2008, 15:48 cool :D spots1 26-04-2008, 04:45 I do! LOVE IT Jeffrey 27-04-2008, 16:39 I'm just a beginner Squeejie 27-04-2008, 16:52 I'm a stitcher, on leave to World of Warcraft atm, but I'm sure I'll get back to it in a bit 'cos I've a huge Heaven and Earth design to do. I think it may take me several years, but that's the joy isn't it? ;) Squeejie Hayley1 27-04-2008, 17:51 oooh I've not long finished a Haed design - what is the pic Squeejie? Squeejie 27-04-2008, 18:01 Cloak of Stars I'll just link it: http://www.heavenandearthdesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=160_119&products_id=1974 Cheers Squeejie Hayley1 28-04-2008, 15:13 That's pretty. Is it your first Haed? I've found it's cheaper and just as effective if you use hand-dyed fabrics instead of filling in all the background. I have a pal who dyes to your spec if you're interested, just shout :D kittenta 29-04-2008, 12:03 I have just fetched my stitching back out of the cupboard to try and help me relax and focus on something else for a bit! It's been a pretty crap year so far so I needed something else to focus on! Unfortunatly it's back to the same projects lol. I can't leave them though because they will just nag me (as does my daughter because one of them is for her) until they are finished! Hayley1 29-04-2008, 14:51 Hiya Kit, how r u. Haven't seen you around lately. you got a wip pic of your wolfie? raven13 30-04-2008, 12:03 Another cross stitcher here. I'm currently working on a birth sampler for my unborn daughter due 9th September. I get a lot of my stuff online as I haven't found a decent shop in Sheffield yet but I have enough to going on with. Its nice to see some others around! kittenta 30-04-2008, 20:13 Hiya Kit, how r u. Haven't seen you around lately. you got a wip pic of your wolfie? Hi Hayley. Having a difficult year so far but still standing! Was going to call in on you a few weeks back as I went on your road but didn't want to shock you lol. I haven't really done anything on either project but i'll take a new piccy of the Husky and post it. Hope you are all well. Hayley1 01-05-2008, 07:10 :hihi: you're welcome anytime hun. I do hope the rest of the year will be better for you. I look forward to seeing your piccy kittenta 01-05-2008, 12:29 Right here we go, an updated picture of the husky (http://s91.photobucket.com/albums/k298/kittenta/?action=view¤t=all087.jpg) Oh and one of the panda baby (http://s91.photobucket.com/albums/k298/kittenta/?action=view¤t=all.jpg) :) Hayley1 01-05-2008, 15:05 nice work so far! kittenta 02-05-2008, 22:08 Getting there slowly...very slowly lol. J_F_A 13-05-2008, 00:41 Another stitcher here! I only started in December, but I've already completed a few things with the help of my stitching forum. I'm currently working on a tabby cat design for my gramma and I'm going to start a forever friends one for my boyfriends mum. I also participate in a stitching A.T.C game so I do some really cute small designs for that too. I like to have two projects on the go at a time, one for at work and one for at home, as I pull 12 hour shifts and my boss lets me stitch there. I also do small card designs as I do cardmaking too. *Peaches* 16-05-2008, 10:43 I've been stitching since I was about 8. I have a terrible habit of starting and not finishing them though, naughty me! |
