Just wondered how many of you did cross stitch :)

Still going doolally with too many shades of green, but had break this weekend a did a Bang on the Door cub for one of my god-daughters.

I do. Though I haven't done any for a while. I have loads of kits and charts buried in my stash. Every now and then I have a craving to dig one out, though lately I've been busy with knitting and other embroidery stuff.

Just realised last week that I have cross stitch pieces I completed over ten years ago that I still haven't got around to having framed :o .

I do. I just can't find much time to do them at the moment though.

I've been cross-stitching since I was about 9 years old!!! These days, I seem be spending more time on the computer (SF!!) than with a needle in my hand....!!!!

I cross stitch all the time and have also taught it in the past when I volunteered at the local Hospice. Have been doing it a good 20 years now and love it.

Me! I've been an addict since one of my olde school teachers taught me one day at age of about 11

I am been doing them about 15yrs now havent got time at mo though as clearing up after flooding need some chillout time so will get back onto them soon hopefully

Me! I've been stitching for about 15 years now (and I'm only 24 lol). I'm ashamed to say I haven't picked up a needle in about 8 weeks though - I'm 3 months pregnant and just don't have the concentration at the moment to trust myself not to do it all totally wrong lol! Hoping to get my teeth back in to some soon once the tiredness wears off, I've got a baby afghan I'm working on for a friend and Henry VIII and his wives for myself. Be 2010 before I finish them lol.

I love cross stitch and have o work going all the time, actually I'm addicted i must say!! It relaxes me and I've made a lot of items, tablecloths, everything for the new coming baby, from cradel linen to baby induments. Kitchen items......

short of Hobby Craft, I'm afraid Sheffield lacks a good stitchy shop - I get most stuff online.

How much of a novice? My first few kits were small ones that came free with the magazines so maybe it would be worth going to a good magazine shop. Sheffield does lack good shops for cross stitch items unless you go to hobbycraft of course.

I'm a cross stitcher, too. I learnd cross stitching when I was 13 in school and then gave it up again but restarted about 7 years ago.

I love stitching animals (especially tigers and cats which are my favourites), Winnie the Pooh designs by Debbie Minton for Designer Sitches and romantic pictures.

At the moment I'm stitching a picture called "Curiosity" with three cats in bookshelves - very cute. A also participate at a Round Robin.

I've only just moved to Sheffield and wonder if there's a cross stitch group here that I can join?

I am in s6 aswell dont get much stitching done at moment as doing house up but would love to meet other stitchers

I also have loads of kits forsale as i use to sell on ebay but given it up now with them getting so greedy with fees ect

I haven't done much cross stitching since December - mainly the Round Robin I participate at at the moment and a surprise for two girls of my German cross stitch group as they were pregnant. I did a practical training in the company where I work now (in the Bavarian office) and didn't have much freetime to stitch for myself. Now I can't wait to finish my picture I had started in August.

I think it would be fun to meet once or twice a month to stitch together and talk about cross stitch problems and chat.

That's pretty. Is it your first Haed? I've found it's cheaper and just as effective if you use hand-dyed fabrics instead of filling in all the background. I have a pal who dyes to your spec if you're interested, just shout :D

I have just fetched my stitching back out of the cupboard to try and help me relax and focus on something else for a bit! It's been a pretty crap year so far so I needed something else to focus on! Unfortunatly it's back to the same projects lol. I can't leave them though because they will just nag me (as does my daughter because one of them is for her) until they are finished!

Another cross stitcher here. I'm currently working on a birth sampler for my unborn daughter due 9th September.

I get a lot of my stuff online as I haven't found a decent shop in Sheffield yet but I have enough to going on with.

Another stitcher here! I only started in December, but I've already completed a few things with the help of my stitching forum. I'm currently working on a tabby cat design for my gramma and I'm going to start a forever friends one for my boyfriends mum.

I also participate in a stitching A.T.C game so I do some really cute small designs for that too.

I like to have two projects on the go at a time, one for at work and one for at home, as I pull 12 hour shifts and my boss lets me stitch there. I also do small card designs as I do cardmaking too.

I've been stitching since I was about 8. I have a terrible habit of starting and not finishing them though, naughty me!
