The Feeling are really good - I've seen them live a few times.

Yeah I don't like all the acts but it's general appeal to all stuff. And the Quo - respect!

Fergie . . . . what happened to the sound???... The atmosphere seems crap, theres nothing happening apart from a few old biddies in the front clapping and if they show one more shot of that silly little girl with the braces on in the front row I'll chuck summat at the telly!

Pharrell was abit poo too, thought he might be ok :( as for the best bit, it's got to be watching Prince William trying to dance! LOL:P:hihi:

What a disappointing climax.

Yep. Elton is way past his sell-by date, and the video was shown slightly too late - the audience was already walking out.

The video was obviously meant to be a tear-jerking finale, but it was a little insubstantial, so squibbed out. It should have been much longer with a voice-over.

Himupnorth

Why the nation had to endure that is beyond me. Make money off the tickets and let the Diana weirdos buy it on a DVD box set for £50 if they want to raise money for charity.

Nothing wrong with the charity aspect, but don't put it on telly.

I'm just saying she looks well for her age.

And Lee Mead sang well live on the Joseph bit.

Some performances were ok but the gaps in between the performers were WAY too long. And Ricky Gervais!!!! I almost cried for him. The only thing that could have been more embarrassing is if he had wet himself right there infront of the whole world. Please no-one ever let him do anything like that EVER again.

It was a bit lacklustre...... IMO.

Better to do a concert for Diana than let the press mark her death with more lies and revelations.

Oh dear due to his age Rod's vocal range has been drastically reduced oh for those halcyon days of Maggy May 1973. Due to being from the sixties era I regarded Take That as all boy bands that pinched other peoples material and didn't play instruments, but hey Gary Barlow and company can actually sing good live,I am a convert.
As for Ricky, unfortunately he was introduced as the world's greatest comedian, unfortunately he was introducing the prima donna of pop music, unfortunately he could not hide behind a tirade of four letter words that these new wave comedians hide behind.Surely Ricky you should have prepared for the possibility of Elton throwing a tantrum ,you were rooted to the spot like a rabbit in a cars headlights.Part of a comedians repertoire should be something called adlib

Ballet was very good (& I'm no ballet fan), the Lloyd Webber stuff was very good, Rod Stewart was good, take that also, I was a bit disppointed with Elton John, I expected more, and the film of Diana at the end was pointless. Faced with watching a 10 minute film or dashing off for the next tube, everyone looked like they'd chosen to dash.

Let's face it this concert was more to mark the 10th anniversary of Diana's passing. If the princes really wanted to hold a big concert for her postumous birthday then her 4Oth or even 45th birthday would be more appropriate. If there is such a bit concert for her 46th birthday then her 50th should be twice as big!

In the passage of time and history this concert will most likely be inaccurately quoted as the concert to mark the 1O anniversary of her death or her 45th birthday, somehow I think the number 46 won't be remembered, except for wikipedia of course!

i have always thought that other than the office Ricky Gervais is not actually funny.

But to be fair to hm he did have to "ad-lib" in front of all those people which cant of been easy and he did fail which really goes back to my first point he needs a good script witer to be funny

No offence to the family or anything but personally I am rather bored of Diana by now and think all the so called 'grief' at the time (not her family but the general public who never knew her) was rather artificial and shallow anyway. All that 'people's princess' stuff was never more than a catchy soundbite.

I'm totally with you, Rainbow. Some people are never happy unless they're moaning or complaining about something.

Over the last two days I've watched the whole thing. I thought the show was very well put together. A little too 'polished' at times and slightly plastic in places, but in all honesty we've never really seen the likes of this before so I guess we ought to cut it some slack.

Yes, there were sound difficulties and a few minor technical gripes, but overall I thought the boys did incredibly well to organise what they did. The event was a real credit to them.

To the poster who complained that Wembley wasn't full - 63,000 tickets isn't bad going at all - when's your gig then?

Amongst my favourite performances were Joss Stone, Nelly Furtado, P-Diddy and Brian Ferry. The ballet really was fantastic, but what I liked the most was the footage in between sets entitled 'Diana and me' All this did was to show, yet again, what a truly amazing individual she was and what a fantastic impact she had on many, many people.

I can't think of anybody alive currently that will receive that type of event in the future to mark their lives or the work that they've done.
