View Full Version : Who's Up late? DaBouncer 12-08-2003, 00:45 It's 01:37 in the AM of Tuesday 12th August in the year of our lord 2003. Anyone else, up? Neo 12-08-2003, 00:47 Yes.. I have no idea why though, I'm feeling really tired now. Jon 12-08-2003, 00:51 :) I'm wide awake as normal must be great to go to sleep like normal people:wave: Lickszz 12-08-2003, 00:52 Me. I've got a couple of hours left in me yet. DaBouncer 12-08-2003, 00:56 I got a couple of hours too. Although I'm thinking of spending them watching 'The Warriors' movie on DVD in bed with a nice cuppa! Lickszz 12-08-2003, 00:57 Originally posted by DaBouncer I got a couple of hours too. Although I'm thinking of spending them watching 'The Warriors' movie on DVD in bed with a nice cuppa! That's generally my trick. Sometimes it's the only thing that will get me to sleep. The Warriors is one of the best gang movies too. DaBouncer 12-08-2003, 00:59 Alongside 'The Wanderers'! Both top notch movies! Lickszz 12-08-2003, 01:01 Originally posted by DaBouncer Alongside 'The Wanderers'! Both top notch movies! I also like Blood in Blood out. Jon 12-08-2003, 01:01 8) i'm looking through my bedroom window looking at the moon it seems to be moving or is it my imagination? DaBouncer 12-08-2003, 01:02 Must say I've never seen that. I'll go and check the Imdb before I make the cuppa 'yorkshire tea'! DaBouncer 12-08-2003, 01:03 Originally posted by Jon 8) i'm looking through my bedroom window looking at the moon it seems to be moving or is it my imagination? Can't see the moon. But I got this via email today: Never again in your (or my) lifetime will the Red Planet be so spectacular This month and next Earth is catching up with Mars, an encounter that will culminate in the closest approach between the two planets in recorded history. The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287. Due to the way Jupiter's gravity tugs on Mars and perturbs its orbit, astronomers can only be certain that Mars has not come this close to Earth in the last 5,000 years but it may be as long as 60,000 years. The encounter will culminate on August 27th when Mars comes to within 34,649,589 miles and will be (next to the moon) the brightest object in the night sky. It will attain a magnitude of -2.9 and will appear 25.11 arc seconds wide. At a modest 75-power magnification Mars will look as large as the full moon to he naked eye. Mars will be easy to spot. At the beginning of August Mars will rise in the east at 10 p.m. and reach its azimuth at about 3 a.m. But by the end of August when the two planets are closest, Mars will rise at nightfall and reach its highest point in the sky at 12:30 a.m. That's pretty convenient when it comes to seeing something that no human has seen in recorded history. So, mark your calendar at the beginning of August to see Mars grow progressively brighter and brighter throughout the month. Share this! No one alive today will ever see this again. Lickszz 12-08-2003, 01:04 Originally posted by DaBouncer Must say I've never seen that. I'll go and check the Imdb before I make the cuppa 'yorkshire tea'! It's well worth a look. It used to be hard to get hold of from retailers in this country but you shouldn't have a problem from some of the online places. A woman behind me asked if I had a dog. On impulse, I told her that no, I was starting the Pedigree Diet again, although I probably shouldn't because I'd ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I woke up in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms. I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your trouser pockets with Pedigree nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry and that the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again. I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was by now enthralled with my story, particularly a guy who was behind her. Horrified, she asked if I 'd ended up in the hospital in that condition because I had been poisoned. I told her no; it was because I'd been sitting in the street licking my balls and a car hit me. I thought one guy was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard as he staggered out the door... angie_153 26-08-2006, 01:14 :hihi: :hihi: almost fell out of my chair laughing !!!! happyhippy 26-08-2006, 01:28 Can't see the moon. It's cobblers son ....... Mars will never look like anything but a very bright red star without the shimmering from the Earth, unless we *really* need to worry about a collision :hihi: But then you knew that ..... :hihi: Just reading along the posts on here, and listening to a cool internet 80's rock station ..... 'Ain't Talking 'Bout Love' by Van Halen on now ....... actually it's gone 70's and it's Black Sabbath with "Sweet Leaf" ...... happyhippy 26-08-2006, 01:29 i got a great joke in an email earlier. here goes Subject: My perfect diet My neighbour has a Golden retriever and I was buying a large bag of Pedigree at Asda and was in line to check out.
