How much are you wanting to pay? Have you checked the rescues? bartonowl 30-06-2007, 14:06 anything upto 3-4 months, will pay upto £60 because my girlfriend really wants one and is quite annoyed about not getting hers today. geerarffe 30-06-2007, 14:29 Does it have to be ginger? Male or Female? bartonowl 30-06-2007, 14:31 Definitely ginger sex doesnt matter, cut a long story short i ahd a ginger cat at my mums and my girlfirend got really attached to it and then it died so we really want a ginger one. geerarffe 30-06-2007, 14:33 http://rainrescue.co.uk/4.html I know this guy is a bit older than you said but he's the only ginger cat I can find nearby! geerarffe 30-06-2007, 14:36 Sheffield RSPCA. They're more the age you are after. http://rspcasheffield.org/cgi-bin/makepage.py Custardcreme 30-06-2007, 14:37 check ad-mag :) its only £1.20 :D bartonowl 30-06-2007, 14:38 my girlfriend wants a kitten, but thanks alot for trying to find me one, ill keep trying the rescues, theres 2 at rspca sheffield but it shut cos of floding and bawtry arent answering. Than you geerarffe 30-06-2007, 15:06 http://www.catsprotectionshop.com/ There are a couple on here but they don't have any details yet! Might be worth getting in touch and enquiring about them! katkin 30-06-2007, 16:58 http://rainrescue.co.uk/4.html I know this guy is a bit older than you said but he's the only ginger cat I can find nearby! He is gorgeous though, isnt he? and 1 year old is still young enough to act kittenish bartonowl 30-06-2007, 16:58 i cant believe what a struggle i am having trying to find a ginger kitten i have been searching for 5 hours solid now with no look it seems to be becoming a lost cause.:help: katkin 30-06-2007, 17:07 i cant believe what a struggle i am having trying to find a ginger kitten i have been searching for 5 hours solid now with no look it seems to be becoming a lost cause.:help: Gingers are not always that easy to come across and are always very popular, as are tabbies. We were lucky- when we had our old moggies, we had a semi long haired ginger male and a shorthaired ginger female (plus various others). The ones that tend to get overlooked are the all black ones- somehow, when people visit rescue centres, they dont always seem to see the black uns and its an establishedfact that they are harder to rehome. If you can't find a ginger, perhaps your girlfriend would consider a black or black n white? After all, a kitten is a kitten, regardless of colour. Me? I'm just a sucker for cats of all descriptions and have to stop looking at the rescue sites because if I had my way... First thing I'd do if I won the lottery tonight? (Go and buy a cream n black mini cooper convertible) NO, the SECOND thing I would do is go house hunting- big house, big garden - potential cat sanctuary... Good luck xK bartonowl 30-06-2007, 19:07 still the search goes on, big thanks to geerarffe for trying to find me one. ColinJ 01-07-2007, 00:21 Have you tried Sheffield Cats Shelter? http://www.thesheffieldcatsshelter.org/ They're a great bunch of friendly, dedicated people. They have a 5 yr old ginger lad on their SOS page at the moment. If he has gone, or is not for you (he has a few problems), I'd still urge you to consider taking on an adult cat. Rescue centres and shelters hardly ever have problems homing kittens of any colour, it's the poor adult cats (particularly black ones and to an extent black & white ones also) who often have lovely temperaments and would make wonderful companions but are left to languish in shelters, overlooked and unwanted, for weeks or months at a time through no fault of their own. Lspacehopper 01-07-2007, 11:25 Not being funny, but why the urgency? I understand what you've said about your girlfriend etc, but look at it this way. You're prepared to take the first ginger kitten that comes along, whether it's right for you or not? Take a step back and wait. Patience is a virtue and kittens are not a commodity. medusa 01-07-2007, 12:13 Not only are kittens not a commodity, but they don't stay kittens for very long either. I hesitate to say this because I don't want to be seen to be criticising you if you're prepared to offer a really good lasting home, but please think about what will happen when they're no longer a cute small kitten. This kitten (hypothetical) will stop being cute and cuddly within a few short months and will become a spiky house-wrecking monster from about 7 months until at least 18 months, and from then will be an adult cat. You wouldn't believe the number of PMs that I get that start with 'what's wrong with my kitten? He/she is taking the house to pieces- are they demonic?' from people who forget that animals go through 'teenager' stages too. Assuming that they're healthy, a cat is likely to live to at least 15 years old- and they're only a sweet kitten for the first 6 months or so (and they aren't separated from mum until about 3 months old, so that only leaves 3 months of kitten-ness). Please think really hard about why you only want a kitten, and then think hard about accepting the first one that happens to be the right colour without knowing their personality or whether that's right to fit in with your family. bartonowl 01-07-2007, 13:07 i do know this seen as i have had 3 cats from kittens before. baileys_mum 01-07-2007, 13:11 hold on, I think I know someone with one geerarffe 02-07-2007, 22:55 Any luck yet? bartonowl 03-07-2007, 18:02 i have had some luck there is a possibillity of me picking my kitten up this weekend :hihi: katkin 03-07-2007, 19:36 great stuff- please post a photos of your new arrival xK bartonowl 08-07-2007, 19:22 I have my ginger kitten, we picked him up around six o clock, he has just about settled down, he has just fallen asleep on the sofa watching big brother. my girlfriend decided to name him Edward and he is so cute. :D kittenta 08-07-2007, 19:45 Edward the tv addict :hihi: Glad to hear he is on the sofa and not under it ;) xxsarahxx 08-07-2007, 19:46 ahhhhh im so glad you got one...:) hope you get some pics soon so we all can see him...:D lanee123 30-05-2008, 11:02 hi have 4 ginger kittens for sale 2 boys 60 pounds each and 2 girls 80 pounds each they will be ready in 4 weeks xxhunniixx 30-05-2008, 12:21 check the date of OP luvvie!
