I was watching that C4 thing last night about selling houses with Andrew Winter.

Rather refreshingly he was actually saying how the market nationally had cooled.
In fact the house they were tarting up was on at 475k, and was beautiful, but in the end had an offer at 440k ie HAD STILL NOT SOLD.

Unfortunately Andrew then blots his copybook by explaining that the market in Sheffield is still rising and will continue to do so.

Does anybody know Andrew's other job?

If he works for Blundells he probably doesn't know anything about property/prices.

Estate agents always want you to believe that the market is still buoyant.

That is their job to do that, otherwise there would be no one buying or selling.

People are not stupid.
they know about interest rate rises..5 in the last 6 months , but I believe it has steadied off now.
Dont believe everything that you read in the papers or on the news.
The market has not crashed..
As mentioned in the last topic re housing market, there has just been a house that we have been trying to get where the vendor clearly had it undervalued to get people through the door and push the price up.

It has gone up to 285. ie 10 k over asking and we have pulled out as person with offer has no house to sell.

There definately is still movement here in Sheffield but nothing to compare with what happened in the summer of course now that the interest rates have taken effect

Andrew Winter on tv is not the same Andrew Winter who is a partner at Blundells!
