Hello
My girlfriend and I would like two Rabbits for the house, preferably Mini or Dwarf Lops. Found a few places that have some for sale now, but none particularly close to Sheffield and would like to find some closer to home that don't need a two hour car journey in summer to get them home!!
Does anyone around here have any suggestions on where we might be able to get some Lops around Sheffield / S Yorkshire?
Thanks

Check your local rabbit shelters etc and don't plump for a breed because you think tey will be small.. they probably won't be as small as you think and lops bring a lot of teeth problems with them.
Check www.rabbitrehome.org.uk
Hi.
Thanks, have seen that site. And not going for Lops cos of the size, simply cos my girlfriend finds those the cutest. (sorry to those that don't agree ;) )

Lol, each to their own. I personally wouldn't have a lop because of the teeth problems that come along with them due to their mis-shapen heads.. And you can get some very cute normal rabbits.
Plus do you realise a house rabbit can live for ten years plus? And the vets bills are astronomical... Plus you can't feed them just anything. make sure you research it before you do anything like buying on a whim.
I know, thanks for the advice though.
And I wouldn't get an animal on a whim!

Hi,
As the guys have said already and I'm sure you will, really do your research and make sure you can commit to having rabbits. Costs for neuturing, vaccinations and general health can be tremendous. Think about what you'll do with them come holiday time etc. They are prolific chewers and will have a go at anything.
Where possible try to rehome first. It's not always older rabbits in rescue /adoption centres if that's your concern. We get youngsters and 'babies' in as well.

SOOZ is a good contact on all things bunny and she regularly posts ads on bunnies who are in rescue
Replied to your PM nexus, hopefully we will have just the lops for you (we have a few here and at fosterers at the moment). let me know if you want to come visit :)
