I have a skein of Colinette Jitterbug in Tapis sitting in the stash that's crying out to be knit up into socks.
I'm looking for a pattern that's particularly suited to the lovely variegated Jitterbug, so I don't want one with a pretty and complicated stitch pattern that will get lost in the colours. I'm after a bit of a challenge too though.
Any ideas?
I did some Jaywalkers in my Jitterbug, but I used 2 skiens, there was plenty left though....

Thanks for the suggestion. I love the Jaywalker pattern, but I've already knit it twice now :o .
Hmm, I'd better make sure I don't take a fancy to a pattern with a high yardage requirement. Or should I just buy more Jitterbug? It's a lovely yarn.
Jill has a new sock shape book all about socks apparently, I wasn't taking much notice to be honest
What about tropicana (http://magknits.com/June06/patterns/tropicana.htm) from magnknits? The colours on the photo are scary but I've seen it knitted in Opal rainforest and it's quite nice - similar to jaywalkers but different iyswim!!

I really like that pattern. I see what you mean about the similarity but difference to the Jaywalkers. Right, I've just printed that one out. Wonder if I can get away with the one skein of Jitterbug? I'll make a start on the first one and see how much of the skein I have last.
Thanks for the recommendation.

They are also similar to the broadripple socks from knitty (http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEsummer03/PATTbroadripple.html) which I am half way through knitting.
I've done broadripple too littlemissy. Lovely pattern, easy to memorise and looks good in fact I'm wearing them today :o What yarn are you using? I did mine in the recommended one, cotton and elastic but can't for the life of me remember the name of it now and too lazy to look it up. Looking forward to seeing some pics.
I was going to say that I thought I remember reading that Turra had made the Broadripple socks. I like that pattern very much too - thanks for the suggestion. I think I'm going to go with Tropicana this time though.
Investigating this has also given me the pattern for the next pair too - Meida's Socks by Nancy Bush from 'Favourite Socks'. They're ankle socks with bands of a leaf lace-like pattern and a cabled twist running up the middle of each band. The motif reminds me a bit of bird with its wings outstretched.

I have knit the first broadripple sock, the other one is on hold til I get my sock mojo back (had to knit 2 pairs very quickly for presents I had forgotten :| ) I am using Lucy Neatby's Celestial Merino Dream in Fiesta colour. I really like the yarn but it was hard to photograph :| (http://www.prettyinpurple.com/images/finishedbr1).
