DUBCENTRAL PRESENTS JAH TUBBYS WORLD SOUND SYSTEM
Dubcentral will stil be going ahead this weekend, on Saturday, now at CLub Void next to Club Shhhh!!!!! It will be bigger and better, and a huge space to dance in.
On June 30 Dubcentral reaches for the stars when it presents Jah Tubbys Hyper Power World Sound System at its reggae allnighter at Club Shhh. This is absolutely a first for Dubcentral, we’ve wanted to bring up the world famous sound system for years: now it’s really happening.
Jah Tubbys is the man behind one of the most innovative sound system of all time. He built his first system in the early seventies when the dub emerged shaking and quaking from the studios in Kingston, Jamaica. Since then he has been the inspiration for so many others systems including the much loved Iration Steppas and Aba Shanti-I.
There’s a lot more to him than that: not only does he inspire systems but he makes the amps and pre-amps that has gone into so many other systems – check his website you can still get the man to create the guts of a system for you (at the right price). Over the last thirty-five years the man has also been producing his own mighty dub plates and vinyl on the Jah Tubbys and Y & D label, with a trademark sound that features very, very deep sub bass, a light touch sparse production and a conscious message to the lyrics.
