My shower doesn't work, I think the thermostat has gone. How much would it take to repair or am I best off just buying a new one? If so what will that cost?

Either run via your hot water cylinder / or combi, or even if its electric its easier and cheaper just to replace. Throw away society i'm afraid. A new thermostat for an electric shower costs approx £39.00 or more. ChrisTPS 28-06-2007, 01:12 PM I agree with Andy. When choosing your new shower try to find one that matches on water and cable entry. Otherwise the tiles may have to come off. If you can't Triton do a back mounting for their showers which lets you alter the pipe work above the tiles without it showing. Chris jl-heating 28-06-2007, 08:53 PM i agree with every 1 .. :) i have never repaired 1 before .. it is more cost efficient to buy a new 1 .. if you take a note of the model of the shower and try a few merchants locally maybe they can match it up which will make it a very easy swop. or if they cant they can give you good advice to which model to go for . remember do not go for a big silly 9 kw shower or it will need re-wiring if it is 8 kw stay with that .. if it 7kw maybe go up to an 8kw for a little more power. :) . i have just read it back to myself and it makes no sense wot so ever .. never mind .. :) Complete-Heat 28-06-2007, 11:55 PM I know what you mean John :D Bailey's mum: Do as suggested and see if you can get a like for like replacement. That makes it an easy swop over. If not then do as ChrisTPS says and opt for a Triton. Good showers and having a back plate makes it easy to re-jig any cable and pipework. If you need it fitting just ask us on here  baileys_mum 29-06-2007, 12:44 PM How much would it cost me for fitting a new one? i'm pretty dumb at this sort of stuff |
