This year its the 10th Anniversary of the great Sharrow Festival with 2 weeks of Fringe events in and around Sharrow and the big One Day Festival in Mount Pleasant Park on Saturday 14th July which kicks off at 12.00 and runs to 8.00 pm. We've a great lineup of global food stalls, performances, kids activities, field events, the community stage and the big music stage with a truly international lineup featuring: Bracken Hill – Flavours of garage, rock, dance, punk & psychedelia, CD4 – Spanish & British rock band working to raise HIV awareness, Mbirawise -Jit jive band from Zimbabwe,
Sikora – Magnificent, muscular melodies fronted by Sardinian Andre Oggiano, Ablewell Foundation – Return of the Birmingham based reggae & soul artists, Robert Maseko & the Congobeats – One of the UK’s top Congolese dance bands, Open Season – First UK Tour by an amazing Swiss ska and reggae band, Bertie Lee’s Blues Busters– They rocked it last year, the blues boys are back, Allout Crew – Return set by Sheff’s amazing young grime, r&b & hip hop crew, I-Witness – Welcome back to the city’s great reggae, funk & hip hop band and the Rangla Panjab Bhangra Group – Bhangra dancing & music with a youthful flavour.
