Dont let the bells end! igm1 06-12-2004, 04:31 PM http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22639 Already a thread on it Please check before posting, cheers  Insanity 08-12-2004, 12:27 AM Darkness?......who are they? oh yeah that 'comic act' aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggghh! listen to some real music people......Thunder will be in sheffield next March for a start. there's more rock in Lemmy's toe nail clippings than there is in Justin Hawkins spandex. *if you ask who Lemmy is , don't reply to my post!* Rubysoho 08-12-2004, 12:26 PM Having seen both Thunder and The Darkness numerous times, why is one comic and the other 'real'music?? Both bands have highly proficient/skilled musicians, both inject humour into their stage show (or does Harry wearing a lime green curly wig onstage not fall into the category 'comedic'????) Granted, Thunder did not achieve the heights of success that The Darkness currently enjoy, (which was a shame) but I don't think that is down to the fact that they (The Darkness) are a 'comic' act - rather they offer something different (and superior) to the majority of music around at the moment and combine it with a sense of humour that is a welcome and refreshing change. Both bands are very good at what they do, don't insult them as 'comedic' just because they are not to your personal taste. |
