Dear all sheffield couples and other soon to be married couples outside of sheffield,

I would like to bring it to your attention the duties of wedding co ordinators attached to venues etc...
If you think that these inexperienced in house venue attached wedding co ordinators will ensure your entire wedding day runs without a hitch, sorry you have been mislead.

Why I am telling you this is because after 17 years as a professional wedding designer, planner and co ordinator I have seen numerous brides close to tears because they were mislead by the venue's co ordinator believing they would deal with every aspect of planning their wedding and ensuring it went to plan. Only this year in August I had a call from a bride because there was a problem with the wedding cake and photographer, they spoke with the venue and asked them if they could clear up the issues, but the venue wouldn't deal with the problems because the suppliers the couple had used were not recommended by the venue.

Also do you realise that each time you use the suppliers that your venue uses on a regular basis, pays the venue a huge payout of commission, so not only are they getting your cash for hiring the venue, but they are receiving a big wad of cash from that specific supplier.

We are different here at Your Wedding Angel, we pass those payouts of commission onto you the couple in the form of a discount, so you benefit from our expert high quality services, and get a great discount to boot. Not only that if the venue you choose is a venue we have previously dealt with we usually manage to negotiate a huge discount on the quoted price that they give you. And even if it isn't a venue we are familiar with, we can usually successfully negotiate a generous discount on your behalf with them, so you still benefit.

I am not saying that you should never trust all "In house co ordinators" but having an independant wedding panner is usually a lot safer, I work with many different wedding planners around the uk, and they will all tell you the same thing, don't rely on the in house co ordinator as they will not help you out with any issues that arise on your wedding day, unless they are either connected directly to the venue, or are one of their regular suppliers.

The benefits to employing an independant wedding planner are endless but the most important are:-

You have the freedom to choose a supplier based on their work, not just because the venue has used them millions of times before and give them a lovely big fat commission at the end of it.

You have the security and knowledge that should the car breakdown on the way to the church or you need the church or venue decorating to your perfection then it will be done, we can also provide unique and elegant decor as an additional service.

You obtain more discounts because we don't take any commission offered to us by any supplier, all we take is our fee!

You can use the services of a supplier that has been highly recommended to you either by a family member, friend, work colleague or other person you can trust, and if you don't have the details of a supplier that has come recommended to you, but don't want to use the venue's supplier we will do supplier searches for you and choose them based on merit rather than because we've used them before which means we pick suppliers appropriate to your budget and choice requirements rather than just because they provide that service.

We alwayscarry out standard checks ie, if they have disabled access that is easy for guests to use, their safety whether they are up to date or not, if you know that one of your guests has just had a baby we will check to see if they have adequate mother and baby facilities making it more comfortable for you and your guests. These are just a few of the standard 101 ammenities and safety checks that we always carry out as standard and included in our general fee.

I design wedding cakes for my clients. Usually they are from ideas that they would like to incorporate into their design eg, colour themes, decoration from their wedding dress or flowers from their bouquets. All the sugar flowers I make and airbrush/ colour dust to match colour swatches, which are then handed to a trained florist for wiring so they are perfectly put together.
I only take one cake for any given date as each one is delivered and set up at your venue by myself . I always think you will have enough to do the night before without worrying about fetching your cake or arranging for it to be put together by an inexperienced member of staff at your wedding reception.
I also have a range of cake stands which are always provided for use on the day and returned.I don't charge extra for the use of a stand or the service of delivery & set up.
I have found also that through consultation my clients are only being offered 2 flavours of sponges & fruit & their choices are extremely limited as to what they are able to have?? I make 7 different flavours of sponge(to date) & fruit and you can have every tier a different flavour if you want to-goes down a treat catering for different guests! With also having been a chef for more than 16 years if a special dietery requirement is needed then I can cater for it.

Depending on the design you would like, the size of the cake topper and wether you would also want smaller ones for each tier of the cake the price would vary.

But as a guide the rose and white flowers toppers in the photos are £3.99 each and the large orchid topper is £11.99.

I'm happy to work to any budget and could make single dragonflys or butterflies .

If anyone is thinking of artificial flowers for their wedding I would be able to offer wedding flowers at a reduced rate as I am still learning.

I do guarantee that they will NOT drop to bits as you walk down the isle, all flowers and foliage are correctly wired in to the bouquet.

Heres a selection of my work for you to view, these are fresh flower hand-tied and buttonholes but I can also create these designs with artificial flowers.

- Are the 'graphistudio' albums those fancy modern ones with photo printing right to the edge of each page?
- When you say 'The originals will be provided as a DVD slideshow for you to keep' does this mean that they have been encripted into a slideshow so that the individual photos cannot be accessed, or do you get the actual images? (does that make sense?!)

The GraphiStudio Albums are the ones that have the photos printed directly on to the pages right to the edge, and have a choice of styles (e.g Reportage), covers and paper. We have a sample of the GraphiStudio album which we show at consultations.

The Originals are on a DVD as a slideshow to music. Photos can't be printed directly from the CD, however the CD can be copied and sent out to friends and family. Prints can be ordered directly from your secure password protected portal on our website. AS an optional extra we also suply a set of 4 or 8 smaller versions of your GraphiStudio album, with exactly the same layout and number of images.

I am currently making bridal garters, personalised with your married name or yours and your partners name and date of wedding, prices start from £4.99 for standard garters, from £9.99 for personalised garters.

Each garter has the something blue you need and will also come with a little pocket with a LUCKY sixpence in for your special day.

My nam is Elizabeth Edwards. I'm a Sheffield-based designer with over 20 years experience in the industry and have worked with many top designers including Jean Muir, Betty Jackson, Catherine Walker and Lindka Cierach (who designed the Duchess of York - Fergie- 's wedding dress), and have dressed numerous celebrities including Joanna Lumley, Jennifer Saunders, Marianne Faithfull and Victoria Wood.
Last year I launched my own range, Hope&Glory, and ran a series of fashion shows here in Sheffield, at the Walnut Club on the Ecclesall Road and at the Botanical Gardens as part of Art in the Gardens. These shows raised in excess of £2,000 for my favoured charity - PACT - which supports the families of kids with cancer at the children's hospital - I continue to support them with each garment I sell.
Hope&Glory is a completely unique range - every piece is a one-off designer garment, made from organic, Fairtrade, vintage, rescued or recycled fabrics. I call it "eco-couture".
Over the years I have worked on a number of weddings for friends and family and plan to expand the wedding side of my Hope&Glory business this year. I have a studio just off the Ecclesall Road close to Hunter's Bar where you would be welcome to come for an informal, no-obligation chat.

Hi there, hope this is of interest - I'm Sheffield-based and make my own glass beads (i.e. I sit behind a rather large flame and shape glass). I specialise in glass roses, butterflies, etc, and have just launched a bespoke service, working with brides to create tiaras and jewellery, but also bespoke cake toppers with integrated jewellery which the bride can remove and give as keepsake jewellery to bridesmaids etc. - including one for herself ;) The service is completely bespoke, and toppers start from £150 - this includes five handcrafted pendants on sterling silver necklaces, so if you're thinking of 'thank you gifts' for bridesmaids, it's actually very economical, too.

I also offer hen do parties where bridesmaids and the bride make their own jewellery.

I'm just starting out in Wedding Planning, but also dabble in Parties and Funerals. I recently co-ordinated my sisters wedding and hen night, and really enjoyed it - I did a cracking job too!

My maid of honour is just starting out doing wedding makeup. She is a rep for Virgin Vie so will be using their products mainly. As a rep she is undertaking bridal makeup training and to try and get more practice and build her clientele up she is offering free makeup trials to anyone in the area, up till the end of 2009. If you then like the trial she can do your makeup on the day for a fee - dependent on where/who/when/what etc!

I offer Wedding Photography. I have qualifications in photography but am not professional. I have photographed 5 or 6 weddings so far and have received bookings for future events based on the work I have, to date, provided.

I work in digital and would be available to do the Bride's house before the ceremony, the ceremony and the reception. Will even do pre shoot with bridal party if wanted.

Basically, anything you want, I can have a good crack at providing it.

Will provide a disc of the shots for you to choose the pics you actually want printed out. Prints will, unless you ask for a different size, be 5 x 7 and be charged each (1.50 each). In addition there will be a charge for my time on the day of £150.

For anyone looking for a unique wedding venue try the Old Rectory at Handsworth, we are not very well known, but our fine georgian building is a hidden gem in quiet grounds and very affordable to. so if your planning a full wedding reception, or just an evening buffet. We booked are wedding breakfast and evening recption here. It such a beautiful place. The person showed us round which could possible the poster was really helpfull. I would recomend the rectory. :)

Hello girls ( and fella's ) I would like to tell you what I do. I do false nails, acrylic only though sorry. A full set with me is only £20, white tips or natural, glitters, gems or plain you chose. I also glam up clothes etc. Bling them up a bit or T shirts for blackpool weekends, hen nights or just a girly night out. I cannot give you a price on the t shirts as it all depends on what you want on them. Last but not least I am a decorator ( in the home). I do not charge the earth like some people do and I have been to college and have a qualification. Please PM me if you want something doing.
