TIN TIN

It's a story about love.

In 1986, at the age of X years old, TinTin, a weird geeky kid, something of a misfit almost, started collecting records, and, influenced by early house music, began clubbing in 1988 where he fell in love with the US house and Detroit techno sound. Inspired by the power to make people dance he was determined to take to the decks himself. Pestering the resident DJ didn't work but his opportunity came in 1991 when the DJ in his local club became a little worse for wear. Not the most normal of beginnings of a DJ career...
Over the next few years he served his apprenticeship and played at parties, underground clubs and pirate radio stations all over the north of England, having some very happy times until 1998 when his club residency came to an end.
Heartbroken, TinTin found solace in the arms of SpeedQueen at the Warehouse in Leeds and fell in love. He fell in love with the people, the music and the ethos. For the next couple of years he danced his way (well, kind of) from hotpants and cowboy hats to air horns and alien masks. Having religiously attended from that day, in February 2000 he got his big chance and took it with both hands - and was offered a residency. Playing at SpeedQueen has given TinTin opportunities he would never have got otherwise, both professionally and personally. More than six years, one and a half stone and a big tattoo later, he's still loving seeing the SpeedQueen faithful enjoy his defining mish-mash (but uplifting) style, which has become his crowd-pleasing trademark to this day.
See? It's all about love.
