carcrash 24-06-2007, 14:31 He won again last night in 4 rounds against a pretty decent boxer, it takes his record to 44-0 with 32 KO's .

sufc_tom 24-06-2007, 14:39 A sportsman the nation should be proud of.
Well done Ricky and carry on flying the flag son.
Kingmaker2 24-06-2007, 16:48 Yep, well done Ricky Hatton!
What did we do before YouTube and the internet!
It's not everyday you see someone counted out by a body blow!
The best body blow I've seen delivered was when Evander Holyfield was defending his title against Bert Cooper. Holyfield landed it perfectly to Bert Coopers tubby body and brought him down like a sack of potatoes within minutes of the opening bell. Bert Cooper got up though before getting stopped later in the fight.
Just hope this is not his next opponent

:hihi::D;)
Ricky is a true hero. I saw him at the a Rotherham working men's club just before he fought Tszyu and he is the real deal. Had time for everyone and made everyone feel special. A great guy and a superb fighter.
happyhippy 24-06-2007, 21:53 Managed to find a stream and got to watch it all. Had the first round level to be honest, but he was way on top the following three.
He was also very gracious to Castillo in his immediate post bout interview, and in dedicating the fight to Corrales, but his dig at Mayweather (who I think will be his next opponent) was funny.
"I've not been at my best the last two fights, but the last four rounds have been more exciting than Mayweather's entire career!"
Kingmaker2 25-06-2007, 00:58 Although Ricky is targetting Floyd Mayweather, it may be that the Golden Boy Oscar De La Hoya might be his next opponent.
De La Hoya would be keen to try and beat Hatton and perhaps get a rematch with Floyd Mayweather.

I agree, but to be honest, I think it would be better/nicer for Hatton to get Mayweather first, before what could be a tremendous bout with Oscar.
It's pretty obvious why Hatton would want that route though; he'd rather win, or lose, explosively than take a title from someone who would have to try and bore him into submission.
I do like Hatton. He actually reminds me a bit of McGuigan, for keeping his feet on the ground if nothing else.
Ted Butler 25-06-2007, 23:13 Would you say he's Britain's best fighter?
Personally I would give that honour to Joe Calzaghe.
happyhippy 25-06-2007, 23:24 It's close between the two. I'm a fan of both fighters to be honest Ted. I think my 'Brooking(spit)' stance would be, Hatton to be the best fighter; Calzaghe to be the best boxer.
Ted Butler 25-06-2007, 23:45 I'm a big fan of Calzaghe, he always comes up with the goods and he put up a brilliant performance when he absolutely destroyed Jeff Lacey.
I also remember him totally out boxing one guy with one hand after he had broken the other one in an early round.
i saw that, it was a good fight

I have to agree about the Lacey fight. Calzaghe was tremendous. I have no doubt that he is the best boxer, but in a slog fest, Hatton's your man.
