Where is the careers office these days.
It used to be on the roundabout on Arundle Gate but believe it has moved.

There's connections on Division street which replaced the old careers office under a new name.

No, Connexions is not just for 14-19.

I went there earlier in the year for a bit of information / guidance / brainstorming and it's many moons since I saw 19!!!

Seriously, they do deal with older people, women returners, etc. Anyone, in fact, looking to work or seeking guidance.

I found them to be quite professional and the person I spoke to clearly knew her stuff. I don't think I learnt anything new in the session I had there, but it did help me focus my thinking.

Get up and stop grovelling...:)

Sorry if I sounded brusque - I think I was having a 40 something moment involving code that wouldn't do what I wanted....:)

So hang on a minute.
Is Connections the new careers ofice or something else.
If not where is it.
My Son needs to go there this week and he is 17.
So where does he go, Careers office or Connections.
I seem rather baffled, I know it does'nt take much but please define the two.

The office in Division St provides Careers Advice for all ages. The Connexions Service is only for Under 19's but the office (the company name is Sheffield Futures) also provides other services to do with Careers Advice and Job Hunting. They run a drop-in service during office hours.

Aha! That was it! I remember now it was someone from Sheffield Futures I dealt with!

There you go, Mat, you was right all along!

It's still quite a good service, though, even if there did seem to be a small coterie of trainee chavs hanging around the doorway...;)

Deborah Hmmm, So when I take him down then I don't ask for the Careers Office, I ask for the Sheffield Futures Office.
Is that correct.
