Meadowhall, the terrier, the tea - other than that its a bit grim really (I noticed when driving back from the sunny, beautiful devon the atmosphere suddenly turned grey when i hit yorkshire)

I only know this little corner of South Yorkshire, and for me it has to be the fantastic peak district national park, a certain inbuilt socialist streak and proper tea.

Phan has a good point, Yorkshire is very big and has its own regional differences.

Best Bit for me

Pudding - Yorkshire variety
and here is a recipe.

4oz Plain Flour
Pinch Salt
2 eggs
half pint of milk

Put on oven to max

Whisk mixture well or better use a hand held blender.

Get a good quality tin (could be individual size ones or large ones)
Use it only for making puddings and do not wash)

Add knob of lard, put in oven until fat is hot. Pour in mixture and pop back in oven.

In 5 to 10 mins you will have perfect pudds.
