Just put Setanta Ireland on to watch the cricket (Ireland v India) and the TV message reads "This programme is not available". Phoned them to enquire, as a subscriber, why I can't view it? Not got the rights to show the cricket to UK subscribers, "It's only a bonus channel". Doesn't say that on the literature, exception being n/a for cable customers of which I'm not one.

So much for the Setanta Sports Pack. "9 Great Sports Channels, Exclusive Live Premium Sport". Certainly nothing 'great' about this morning's disappointment!

No thanks, one sport which doesn't appear on my screens!

Yes unfortunately Setanta only has the rights to the Ireland v India match in the RoI. Zee TV has the rights in the UK, so unless you subscribe to it, you are stuck. I agree they don't make clear in the literature that several Setanta Ireland programmes can only be seen in RoI.

Cheers. India need 194 to win so it won't last long. I saw a preview yesterday and it said: "With the world's TV cameras on it", thus my first port of call was BBC2 N.I. but not to be.

Another annoying thing is that Setanta ran trailers a few weeks ago that they were going to show the WI/Ireland/Scotland/Holland quadrangular cricket tournament. But not a sausage.

Wonder if that was on Setanta Ireland, which of the UK, is only available in Northern Ireland? "Nine Channels" but when you enquire, the "Ninth" is only a bonus channel. I await the Premiership series with baited breath!

No it wasn't in Setanta Ireland's listings, just didn't show it at all. Btw, some things are available on Setanta Ireland, just depends who has the rights. I watched Gaelic Football on Setanta Ireland last night.

Yes, I've seen some GAA matches - soon lose the channel with rain, though - and some Eircom League games but like the cricket, you see it listed on Setanta Ireland but then we find we are unable to view it in England. On asking where it is? - it's then pointed out it is a 'bonus channel'. I'd prefer a full blown "Setanta Ireland" to others I never view.
What does worry me is the weak signal, for as it is, any rain and the 'no signal being received' comes up. I don't want this when the Prem games are on.
Seemingly the fault is with them as my other channels are still on when their's goes off!

I haven't (so far) lost signal with Setanta. Not into soccer any more so not particularly worried about the Premiership, but Setanta has NRL rugby league and some good boxing coming up (including Calzaghe's next fight) so will have to keep the subscription.

The problem with the games in Belfast was that Zee TV had bought the UK rights so Setanta could show them in R of Ireland but not in the UK.

I've had Racing UK since it began, as I need it, and the whole package arrived within the £180 pa. As I would have it in any case, I guess it's a bonus as I don't now need to subscribe to Prem Plus.

"Thank you for your e-mail.

I can confirm that if you are still experiencing viewing problems please call our Customer Services Team on 08700 50 69 44 and they will assist with this. Our lines are open from 8.00 am to midnight, seven days a week.

It has been brought to our attention in the past that customers who have a cordless digital telephone anywhere near their system experienced poor picture quality, please remove this from the area if this is the case. You could also try a digital reboot of your system and check your signal strength and quality, Sky can assist with this and boost it if necessary."

The above is a reply from Setanta about disturbed pictures. I should point out, the warning about the cordless phone is interesting. I disconnected it and despite rain on Friday night, the RUK pictures were unbroken, so the advice worthwhile. I shall reboot the box to hopefully restore Setanta channels at a less-pressing moment.

Start getting your money value tonight with a choice of either Newcastle (4) v Celtic (1) or Dundee Utd (0) v Barcelona (1). Henry scored the rebound after having a 90th minute penalty saved.

Co-commentator, John Beresford. Hope it's a one-off!

Is Setanta serious? Yesterday I was informed that my subscription would lapse at the end of September and it would be £180 to renew for a twelve months' contract.
Others can pay £9.99 per month for the same nine channels with no contract. Iniquitous? Absurd!
Setanta took over the RUK Channel incorporating it in its nine-channel package but it is a kick in the teeth for the loyal followers of RUK who paid loyally, twelve months in advance, on its inception, a few years back. I always thought things were cheaper if bought in bulk?
Somehow, Setanta seems to have either lost the plot or is cashing in on mugs - of whom I'm not one! Twelve phone calls hopefully will not cost £60!

The 9.99 is for, ahem "brand new customers only", so they may try to refuse to allow you to subscribe on a month by month basis. If they try that with me (the 12 month contract) I think I would walk away for a while. But I note you mention you need Racing UK for work.

But they don't know that. If he tells them exactly where to shove their £15 a month deal and that he will be sending a cancellation letter by post, he may well find that they're suddenly, miraculously, allowed to offer him the £9.99 deal.

It worked for me.

That's what I'm looking for and I know the Racing Post has received several complaints on this issue. It's the disparity I object to. I paid £200 for Racing UK when it first started and that became reduced to £180. Pitch in all the football and a saving from Prem Plus and I'd be content, except for the smack in the eye!

Yes, it's worked for me. 10 Sept. I received a renewal invite at £180pa. I think the RUK (now Setanta) subs lapse at 1 Oct so I phoned Customer Services who have to put you through to "Cancellations". Expect to 'hold' for 15 mins for each department. "May I ask why you wish to cancel?" "Because I'm not prepared, as a founder subscriber, to pay £180pa when new subscribers are paying £9.99!"
Came their response: "We can do you twelve months for £119.88."
This I accepted. This was what I'd been railing for since the £9.99 came on the market. The last e-mail I received was 12 Sept - the answer promised within 5 days, never came!
If you've just signed up for £180, I'd soon be on to them!
