View Full Version : Henry to Barcelona! Guderian 22-06-2007, 18:28 On Sky Sports and BBC -Henry to sign for Barce on Monday! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/6231950.stm Agent Gypo 22-06-2007, 18:32 I have a feeling the coming season may be Wenger's last at Arsenal. Unless they make some big signings, they haven't got a chance of competing for the title. scottishdude 22-06-2007, 18:36 £16.2M for 4 year contract, So how can they justify a £17M price tag on D Bent? :loopy: plekhanov 22-06-2007, 19:14 I guess Henry's age, increased injury proneness and the fact that he seems to only want to go to Barca depressed the fee. So who if anybody does this mean will leave Barcelona, is there going to be room for Eto, Ronaldinho, Messi & Henry in the same team? happyhippy 23-06-2007, 00:25 I guess Henry's age, increased injury proneness and the fact that he seems to only want to go to Barca depressed the fee. So who if anybody does this mean will leave Barcelona, is there going to be room for Eto, Ronaldinho, Messi & Henry in the same team? I'd have thought so, as if nothing else (despite what they have besides), what a bench to have if two of those are there, just in case! I'm not sure if Eto'o and Henry would be a perfect match, but given their respective talents, I'm sure they'd work it out. Messi is simply astonishing. As we missed out on Maradona, I'm looking forward to his unveiling at the Lane if he is surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp :hihi: barnie41 23-06-2007, 09:57 What a shame he's off - one of the real greats of the Premier League - what price Wenger to Barcelona next? Messi at the 'Lane - I guess we could just about use him instead of Jags. LFCMadPaul 23-06-2007, 13:10 Not only have they lost the best player to ever pull on an Arsenal shirt, Wenger will now follow as will Fabregas. This however is only the start! What pulling power will Arsenal now have? How many players have actually signed for Arsenal solely because of the presence of Henry and Wenger? With Henry now gone and with others set to follow, which 'world class' player will actually want to sign for them now? None is the answer. Losing Henry could have serious repercussions for Arsenal, the first one being not finishing in the top 4 meaning no Champions league football (money from this relied on to pay for the newly built stadium)! That spot will now go to Spurs who i feel will now catch and overtake Arsenal as the best team in North London! LFCMadPaul 23-06-2007, 13:31 £16.2M for 4 year contract, So how can they justify a £17M price tag on D Bent? :loopy: 23 yrs old, 20+ goals a season!! alankearn 23-06-2007, 16:31 23 yrs old, 20+ goals a season!! Premiership total, 13 goals including 3 penalties from 32 appearances and almost as important in a top class striker only 1 assist Source http://stats.premierleague.com/ LFCMadPaul 23-06-2007, 16:56 Premiership total, 13 goals including 3 penalties from 32 appearances and almost as important in a top class striker only 1 assist Source http://stats.premierleague.com/ Hmmmm in a team that was relegated!!! and that was in the premiership was it not? I believe he scored 20+ in all competitions but i may be wrong! In a team in the top half, or even better top 4, Bent IMO would probably achieve 20 premiership goals easily. Looks like Spurs have him now anyway so we will see and with Bent and Berbatov (the B & B) leading their line, Arsenal IMO can forget even qualifying for the Champions League next season! stylecather 23-06-2007, 17:44 if wenger go , henry will follow JFKvsNixon 23-06-2007, 17:53 if wenger go , henry will follow Wenger still there, Henry gone. Guderian 23-06-2007, 17:53 if wenger go , henry will follow ?? Henry HAS gone. AtticusFinch 23-06-2007, 23:20 On Sky Sports and BBC -Henry to sign for Barce on Monday! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/6231950.stm Do you still stand by your signature given this new development? :) Guderian 24-06-2007, 19:40 Do you still stand by your signature given this new development? :) I certainly do....... Liverpool getting on and signing some players might change my mind..... Agent Gypo 25-06-2007, 01:56 Sigh. Looks like it's between Chelsea and Man Utd for the title then. happyhippy 25-06-2007, 02:17 Sigh. Looks like it's between Chelsea and Man Utd for the title then. You would have thought so. Tricky 25-06-2007, 08:44 A mixed blessing for English football really: the loss of someone who lit up the PL like no other, a travesty that he never won 'World Player of the Year', against the fact that this makes Arsenal vulnerable and maybe the first four places aren't such a formality. One note of warning for those predicting the end of Arsenal though, they will hand back Baptista and sell Reyes, which will give them a very large pot of money to spend if they find the right player. CorkerSWFC 25-06-2007, 09:00 Its a shame Henrys gone, hes a true gent and is a great great footballer, all the best to him in Barcelona, apart from when there playing against English clubs in the Champions league lol. I have a feeling he may come back to haunt Arsenal, whats the odds on them being drawn in the same group? alankearn 25-06-2007, 09:12 Its a shame Henrys gone, hes a true gent and is a great great footballer, all the best to him in Barcelona, apart from when there playing against English clubs in the Champions league lol. I dont think seeded teams (Barcelona+Arsenal are two of them) can be drawn together in the preliminary groups LFCMadPaul 25-06-2007, 10:00 Its a shame Henrys gone, hes a true gent and is a great great footballer, all the best to him in Barcelona, apart from when there playing against English clubs in the Champions league lol. I have a feeling he may come back to haunt Arsenal, whats the odds on them being drawn in the same group? I think any bookie in the land would give odds of about 1'000'000/1, they are both seeded lol CorkerSWFC 25-06-2007, 10:18 I can't beieve that theres 4 seeded English teams, Arsenal did crap last season. Tricky 25-06-2007, 10:28 I can't beieve that theres 4 seeded English teams, Arsenal did crap last season. Because English teams overall have done really well in the champions league in the last few years, teams score very highly just for finishing 4th in the prem. Additionally, both Arsenal and Liverpool have reached the final in the last two years while Chelsea have got quite close a number of times. seobeglobal 25-06-2007, 13:03 everyone is talking about henry's change. i just hope tevez to be his replacement CorkerSWFC 25-06-2007, 15:19 Yes thats a very big possibility, and he'll be used to London aswell. FloodMan 26-06-2007, 11:20 Thats arsenal screwed then! ReginaldD 26-06-2007, 23:17 Its a real shame he's left but for Arsenal to progress I think he had to go. He wouldn't have signed a new contract so 18.8m is better than sweet fa next summer. The only problem now is if all the other players start thinking the club laxks ambition and alos want to jump ship |
