Any way out of paying the £60 fine? Pay it quickly and it's reduced to £30!!!!!!!!! Check out: http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showforum=30 if you want advice on checking the legality of parking fines. X5X5 22-06-2007, 12:16 if there was we all would use it! Let it be a lesson to you;) :lol:Got to agree:lol: Titian 22-06-2007, 12:24 It's a fruitless exercise! I once parked near jessops on a pay and display, paid for my ticket, ended up being kept in, lost my baby, got an official letter form jessops with the reason on to give to the parking department, sent it in and guess what? They replied and said tough, it's now gone up to over £100! MysticKegs 22-06-2007, 12:26 The other day I parked up in town & forgot to get a pay and display ticket. Any way out of paying the £60 fine? If you left the country i doubt they'd chase you. ukstudent 22-06-2007, 12:27 thats awful they still did that titian! Titian 22-06-2007, 12:27 If you left the country i doubt they'd chase you. I bet they would, I think they should be sent to find Osama Bin Laden! Titian 22-06-2007, 12:30 thats awful they still did that titian! I thought so too. I have to say though, about a year later a manager at the University (who owned the car park) was wading through some documents and found a letter from me about it. He was disgusted and got in touch with the parking service (who by this time were taking me to court) and put them straight! munky 22-06-2007, 12:42 The other day I parked up in town & forgot to get a pay and display ticket. Any way out of paying the £60 fine? "Forgot" - or "couldnt be bothered, i'm only gonna be here a few minutes!". . . ??? I'd speculate that if I'd genuinley forgot, then I'd accept that I have to pay the penalty for my forgetfulness. I'd only be questioning "if I could get out of it" if I kinda knew it was coming, knowing I'd not bought a valid parking ticket. . Either way, I still think the ticket "suits you, sir. . Ohh!!" Berberis 22-06-2007, 12:45 If you left the country i doubt they'd chase you. They do, well they don’t but they sell the fine to a recovery agency who will hound you all over the place. I remember reading a story about a guy somewhere in Europe being chased for a parking fine in some city in the UK. The fine was for his quad but he only uses to go around on his farm! Needless to say they realised they had the wrong guy, but it took a lot of convincing. stanleeder 22-06-2007, 14:00 If you've got a genuine reason why you think a fine should be waived you can ask for a personal hearing at an arbitration service. http://www.parking-appeals.gov.uk/welcomeEN.asp I recall a recent newspaper article saying that your chances of a favourable result were good, certainly much better than writing to ask to be let off. However, you'd probably need a better reason than 'I forgot to get a ticket'!! |
