Anyone know any place where tradespeople get together and network?
My partner is an architect and looking to expand his contacts through such a network

Hi sammy, it depends what you mean by networking ? do you mean within trades or to meet people from other trades and professions.
A lot of people go to networking just to sell rather than to build up relationships and trust.
There seems to always be a lot of people networking who are selling books and training to...be better at networking
Also, if there are attendees from say the big banks - often they don't have the power to even buy a stamp on behalf of the bank - they are just professional socialisers
But to answer you question sheffield business club, the chambers :hihi:etc
just google for business networking sheffield, rotherham etc

most work/networking chat is picked up on the golf course or in the pub lol... the people your husband need to get his name to is the customer .. not the builder.. most people get an arcitect in then look for a builder to work on the plans .. some builders recomennd an arcitect when asked .. but very rare it goes this way .

Hi Sammy.
I think there was someone who was posting about such a thing on here. Think it happens on a Friday - business people and tradepeople meeting up somewhere in Sheffield. Swapping stories, business cards etc.
Hopefully not the masons:D

Sheffield Chamber of Commerce, Rotherham Chamber, Small Business Association, SENTA, Regional Development Agency, South Yorkshire Business Link are some of the local organisations that run networking events.
If you join one of them you will be inundated with requests from all the other business trying to sell you what they do. All you do then is tell them what you do whilst being interested in their services.
