Hi!! I am in need of help!. I Have to write a personal statement for my application for the BSC Hons in Midwifery. Places are limited and i need to out shine the other applicants. Can any1 give me any info on what to include. I have experience in care of the elderly only. I am a mum so i have experienced birth/pregnancy, but i need to know what catches the interviewer's eye...So i can get a place... Any help/tips would be appreciated.

Firstly, don't write in really big letters...
secondly, if your only experience of the services of a midwife is as a customer - then don't put that. It will sound really cheesy...
You need to get across your attitude to learning new things, meeting new people, being friendly and outgoing and trying things out. You perhaps also need to show how you can follow rules and regulations because I suspect that midwifery has its fair share of them...
Point out when/where what jobs/activities you carried out these skills in - even if its non-paid/voluntary etc
I would suspect that as with most things - the skills & details can be taught - the attitude can't...
