I have loads of music on my laptop, but I don't like wearing headphones and the laptop's built in speakers are obviously no good. I can connect it to my hifi with a jack to phono lead, but I don't want to mess about making a long enough lead to reach from the hifi to the sofa.

So, has anyone ever seen a bluetooth device, with phono outputs to connect to my amp, that can recieve what I'm playing on Winamp through my laptop's bluetooth?

I already have an FM transmitter that connects to the headphone socket on the laptop, but it is chunky and annoying, loads of interference and you have to keep changing the batteries. Looking for something a bit smarter!

why bluetooth? go for a normal RF transmitter (you can buy them for ipods, for use in cars) for about £10 and 'tune' your hifi tuner into that...

does the job ;)

I think he's already got one of those.
I'm not sure, but something like a Sling Box may be of interest.
perhaps cheaper would be some kind of Bluetooth speaker dock with phono outs. I belive the bluetooth module in your laptop (or usb dongle) would need to support the a2dp streaming protocol. and it's not a route I'd go down. I'd rather put the cash towards a hi-fi device with hard-disc for mp3 storage or a CD jukebox.

oh, or and iPod and a wireless remote control for it!
