What a gal ;) You will have to tell me as I (perhaps it's just me?) can't access this site :( knitbird 18-06-2007, 19:24 Wow! If I'd ever made anything as beautiful, never mind spun the wool as well, it'd have to be prised out of my cold dead hands! W4B, you are a saint. Wool4brains 18-06-2007, 19:42 That's me outed then. I thought that Claudia had forgotten me, she's had an amazing amount of things given and I asked her if she wanted the shawl well before she started the ball rolling with her ride. I must admit that if I'd realised that it was going to be seen today I would not have had a blog post today about my interesting colour choices for babywear. There again most of my socks are pretty eye searing so you just have to look upon it as you getting full value out of a colour monitor. Claudia is looking to raise $30,000 in sponsorship for a 150 mile bike ride. For every $10 you donate you get a chance to win a prize and she has had some truely fantastic prizes donated. Every time that I think that I've just seen the absolute best sock yarn in the world ever she comes up with three more skeins even better. I can honestly say that there is no comparison between spending three weeks spinning the yarn for that shawl and more weeks knitting it (not to mention the lifetime I spent pinning out every one of those fiddly crochet loops) and spending two days riding 150 miles on the back of a tandem. Give me the knitting and spinning any time. She rides this weekend so it's not too late to have a look at the goodies on the prize list and hand over your dosh. I have a tandem, it's in the garage and hasn't seen the light of day since I came off it, fracturing a spinal vertabra and scraping my face along the tarmac a week before my wedding. It makes me appreciate even more what she's doing. Hecate 18-06-2007, 19:46 Wow! Glitter Star 18-06-2007, 20:08 What a lovely gift! It's amazing how many knitters knit for charity and how creative these charity knitting events can be. JillM 18-06-2007, 20:14 Oh my! Now I have got through to the site I can see what you are all talking about. W4B - you have to be one of the most generous people ever. What a superb contribution. Madam_Bo 19-06-2007, 08:45 I hope it helps Claudia to raise lots of money and attention for her cause. It's a truly beautiful shawl.
