View Full Version : When is boxing on? Ange 18-06-2007, 12:16 anyone know when next boxings on itv Code13 22-06-2007, 09:22 ITVs boxing has been provided through a deal with promoter Frank Warren. The contract is up for renewal and Warren is negotiating with ITV, BBC (can't see the point in that, when BBC had some boxing rights a few years ago for the likes of Clinton Woods, Carl Froch and Danny Williams they wasted the rights by putting the fights on in highlights packages at 11.45 pm or whatever) and Setanta Sports. So the short answer to when the next ITV bill will be on is "maybe never". Warren does have a bill on 14 July, so presumably negotiations will be finished by then. Code13 09-07-2007, 09:27 Well, although there has been no official announcement (not even in Boxing News or ITV Boxing website) I notice on the Sky interactive programme guide, that the 14 July bill is listed as being on ITV 4 (8pm-10pm, including Nicky Cook fighting for the WBO title) and then switching to ITV1 for Amir Khan v Willie Limond. Code13 13-07-2007, 11:18 Frank Warren is now going to have 7 bills on Sky in the next 12 months (six Amir Khan fights, plus the Enzo Maccarenelli bill on 21 July) and will also have shows on Setanta Sports (including Calzaghe v Kessler). |
