After a difficult start, Fabio Capello has delivered the first trophy to Real Madrid in 5 years. David Beckham now walks away from Madrid with a prize after the most barren period (at least in terms of trophies won) of his career.

This is what happens when you let the coach buy the players and pick the team...

It was looking pretty bleak for RM when they went 1-0 behind and it was deep into the second half before they got level. They then went ahead with a fortuitous own goal when the goalkeeper saved but parried it on to his own defender standing by the post, and they couldn't prevent it going in. They soon added a third which put the game in safe-keeping and the party began.

I cant believe that Madrid are thinking of sacking Capello.

It's a joke... A similar thing happened with Del Bosque. He won the league, and less than 24 hours later he was sacked. Real didn't win a thing for 5 years.

The new board promised not to make the same mistakes as Perez and his ridiculous 'Galactico' policy, seems they are following in his footsteps pretty closely....

A press conference today is expected to announce the departure of Capello, utter madness.
