View Full Version : People from Yorkshire
I've been around the country and think that IN GENERAL the people from Liverpool are the best looking in the country is it because they have some Irish and Scottish in them? cannot say the same about Yorkshire poeple though....no offence
More than likely that there's nothing else to do in L'pool but get p*ssed and everybody looks more attractive then. IMHO.

Are we talking males or females here? Yes, Liverpool females are very nice looking, but very thick, nasty and spiteful to go with it.
Liverpool males are all of the above, but ugly to boot. Shaven heads, sticking-out ears, all identically dressed in Rockport shellsuits with their paisley socks tucked over their trouser bottoms...need I go on, Miss X ?
DaBouncer 07-08-2003, 14:09 Wow XADRIAN, thank you for coming on a Yorkshire city site and slagging us off like that. It's much appreciated.
I agree with maxt!
I was hoping you'd agree with me. Or are we still not speaking ;)

Yeah right, I think I've actually seen more drunken bums around Sheffield - both day and night. Have you ever actually been to Liverpool? As to there being nothing to do, would that be why Liverpool was voted city of culture?
Tony Ruscoe 07-08-2003, 14:11 Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

Good point my friend. I did live in Liverpool for a decade mind, and Scousers seemed more interested in doing what maxt wrote than in anything remotely 'cultural'

Cities with culture and things to do felt sorry for them, I guess.
I can only answer this from a male perspective but apparently it's a scientific fact that wearing less clothes makes girls (less than 14 stone) more attractive to men. My brother has lived in L'pool for 18 months now and still can't get over the fact that girls there wear next to nothing all year round. I think this is the secret of their success.
Of course (due to the fact that I have a missus) I never look at Yorkshire girls myself. However, if I did, then I'd have nearly fallen off my bike several times on the way to work this morning because I was looking at some fit bird rather than concentrated on the potholes in the road!

If you've lived in Liverpool for any length of time, then by all means slag it off. But if your only contact with Liverpool is either getting beaten by them at football or watching Brookside, then be careful!

Surely, it was just all down to "The Beatles" why Liverpool was voted city of culture ... wasn't it?
Or was it "Brookside"... I can't remember ... :P
Go visit this really happening Liverpool forum.
http://www.britinfo.net/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=11
Hardly suprising that they have to come to Sheffield for intellectual discussion.

So where exactly in Liverpool did you live? I think it must have been some time ago or maybe you just had a bad experience there

You do me an injustice Abby. I have visited L'pool, I don't follow football and I certainly don't watch Brookside.
Maybe I did them an injustice and they may be cultural by 2008. I apologise and will give them the benefit of the doubt until then.
OUCH!!!! ....I don't mean to get anyones back up, just want some lively discussion. I go out with a lovely Yorkshire "pudding" (thats what I call the men in Yorkshire;) and I met him up in Newcastle. when I lived in Liverpool I met some very nice looking men the one that comes to mind was an ex marine called Paul...he was deliciously lovely

Matey, between March 1989 (just before Hillsborough) and May 1992 I lived in Kensington. Between June 1992 and December 1999, I lived in Stoneycroft.
Living in Kensington was Hell, Stoneycroft was substantially better, but the city is full of racist, violent, thuggish, thick, scally thugs wherever you go - have you never been to Liverpool town centre?

Funnily enough yes I have been to the town centre - I lived in Liverpool for 20 years. Kensington and Stoneycroft aren't the best of areas but to say the city is full of racist.....thugs is a bit harsh. I've been disgusted at the racism I've witnessed since moving to Sheffield - think a lot of people here still have the Yorkshire village mentality. Liverpool has a long history of multicultural diversity which, in my opinion, is why the people there are a lot more tollerant

You're right their Pal.
The colder it gets, the less Liverpool girls wear! They even go to Tesco's at night wearing nearly nowt!

I agree, with you there is a lot of racism in Yorkshire I work with a few people who are extremely narrow minded and have some pretty right wing attitudes

Interesting point, PB.
People who have lived in both regions have said to me that Sheffield people can be as nasty as those in Liverpool, but if a Scouser hates you, he'll say it to your face. If a Yorkshireman hates you, he'll be nice to your face but nasty behind your back.
Might there be some truth in that saying...?

Worked for myself and sometimes down at the marina when I had my yacht in there
A small injection of humour into the debate...
Gerrard Houlier was looking to sign some new players to help Liverpool's title push, so he sent his chief scout to Iraq to search for some new talent. Sure enough, the scout finds an outstanding 18 y.o. striker and immediately signs him on a 3 year deal. On getting back to England, Houlier takes one look at him in training and immediately puts him in the starting line up for the big home game against Arsenal. The new lad is fantastic, he scores a hat trick and creates four more as Liverpool romp it 7-0. Ecstatic after the game the young lad phones his mum to tell her the good news.
"Mum" he says, "I've just made my debut and had a great game. The team loves me, the fans love me and the press loves me. Life is great!"
Well," says his mum, "I'm glad life is great for you. Shall I tell you what happened to us today? Your Dad's been murdered in the street, your sister and I were raped and beaten in broad daylight, and your brother's joined a vicious gang of killers".
"Mum, I don't know what to say. I'm so sorry"
"*You're ****ing sorry?" She yells down the phone, "It’s your ***ing fault we moved to Liverpool in the first place!!"

yeh alright but what did you do for a living ? I knew people who had yatchs moored there and I used to go to the Boat Club what was your boats name?
controversial post!
i love sheffield as i have lived here for 2 yrs... but not as much as i love liverpool!
abby i can see your point coming maybe from a racial aspect but i myself have neverexperienced this as im white.
it is only the scallies who are like this however u are making the whole city of liverpool out to be full of scallies!
its just as rough here in sheffield and thats a fact. there are some evil people here. what about the kid from my university who was brutally beaten and murdered on bramall lane in his first yr of university?
in my first year i was attacked by 3 men and viciously beaten leaving my head black and blue and with a 7 stitch scar on my top lip... hardly the 'safest city in britain' from my viewpoint??
Tony Ruscoe 07-08-2003, 15:50 Let's keep this thread on track... we're not talking about whether people are racist or perfect citizens. Nor is it a Sheffield vs. Liverpool debate! ;)
We're talking about whether people are "easy on the eye" or not ;)
So... putting everything else aside, are people from Yorkshire minging or not? :o
IMO, most of the good looking people around Sheffield are probably students from other parts of the country anyway!

I was gonna post something to this effect cuz it was going astray. I agree with you, the majority of good looking people don't seem to come from these parts.
ive seen a lot of gorgeous sheffield birds!!
lovely legs! :D

sheffield birds have definitely improved since I was at school. Now, some of them wear make up ;)
Tony is partially right. A lot (tho' not all) of the best lookers are students and Red2 is right in that some of the locally grown talent is fit.
sheffield has more than its fair share of fit age 30+ birds too. Sorry red2, but by the time a scouse female is 30, a lifetime of drink, drugs, smoking, sunbeds, having 23 children, and regular domestic beatings have taken their toll, and they're only fit for the knackers yard

Are they similar to "filthy rich birds"?

My apologies. Yes, I actually did mean scally birds, such as those from the Liverpool poverty belt. I was just trying to wind you up.
Will not do it again
(Quite a controversial week for me, isn't it) :?
hey abby there was scouse lady at the Millstone in Bamford she was pretty, you might want to check it out
Jo Guest - the bestest, fitest, dirty girl a man could dream of - is from Chesterfield. I know it's just over the border, so she ain't technically a Yorkshire lass, but it's close enough for me.
Maybe she's got a sister or cousin living in neighbouring Sheffield? Anyone with information please let me know.
